Laura Ingraham, who is a conservative radio host, gave a warning to the GOP presidential candidates that they should stop defending the actions of President George W. Bush because "millions and millions" of Republican voters believe the Iraq War that he got the United States into was a mistake.
During the CBS hosted GOP Republican presidential debate last Saturday night, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump accused George W. Bush of lying about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction.
"Obviously, the war in Iraq was a big, fat mistake, all right?" Trump said. "They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction. There were none, and they knew there were none."
These comments by Trump come just two days before George W. Bush goes out to campaign for his younger brother, Jeb Bush, in South Carolina.
The hosts of Fox News were told by Ingraham that Trump's criticism of Bush was risky, but also a very calculated strategy.
"He's thinking that there are millions and millions of Republican voters who have had the luxury of time to look back on whether the war in Iraq was really a good idea," Ingraham explained. "And all the money we spent, and all the men and women we lost. And I think a lot of Republicans -- the establishment doesn't like to hear this -- millions and millions of Americans probably agree with Trump."
"This was a disaster for the United States," Ingraham added. "We've lost influence in the Middle East; we've toppled dictators who probably had their finger on the dice of what was going to be a flood of tumult. And he's betting that people aren't going to just reject the Republican Party of today, they're going to reject the Republican Party of the Bushes.'"
"If they think they are going to re-litigate the Iraq war throughout the United States in this primary process and that's going to end well for them, I don't think it is."
Both Iraq wars were a tactical domination.. strategic disasters, however.. and I don’t think it was all Bush’s fault.. but he did capitulate too much..
Zero is the real reason for the Mid-East as it is today and Trump should be hounding on that..
Bush got sandwiched in-between the causes of the problem - if we are going to blame presidents - Bush could have finished the deal..
Bush to a fault always honored the office and let people walk all over him with political footballs...

It was a major over throw of the Anti American War movement.
The Anti American War movement has since the 1960s opposed ALL US military actions.
The Anti American War movement is a radical leftist pro authoritarian movement.
There are many serious threats to the domestic security of the US and that problem has not subsided at all since Jefferson first attacked Islamic supremacists in libya.
The refusal to defend the Iraq war and to condemn its requisite withdrawal by Obama is to form an alliance with the radical jacobin leftist of the US and the world.
This is absurd. It is outrageous.
I will not cooperate with this new politics.
Trump is not only not conservative— He is one of the most important anti conservatives of our time.
We won the Iraq war against one of the largest militaries in the Middle East and yet we pretend the war create problems while the withdrawal was benign and a step in the right net-isolationist direction.
That is not true.
It is further absurd that a petulant authoritarian personality like Trump would not engage in trivial actions with our military that were not dedicated to larger strategic visions.
In order to settle personal scores with foreign rivals, Trump would attack whimsically.
He shows no sense of patience or grand sense of purpose. Whatever works for the moment is ‘America winning.’
We will adopt a radical hodgepodge of military attacks against Russia, China, Iran, ISIS, Boko Haram, Al Shabab and other powers who challenge us. There will not be a grand strategy.
Pretending that Bush was worse than Obama is the height of delusional hubris. We are asked by Sarah Palin and Now Laura Ingraham to follow along the Code Pink path of conservatism.

Biggest blunder in US history was trying to replace the leaders in Libya, Egypt, Ukraine in Syria. WWIII right around the corner. Saddam had to go. Almost all nations agreed.
My father GRHS was as pro AMERICA and Pro Bush as one could be. But he kept asking. Why are we attacking Irag. Why not the Saudis. Even he said if there wasn’t a damn good reason Bush was opening himself up for impeachment because if was against an international law that he quoted and i don’t remember. The WMD was just a way to get round that law Anyone else know what he was referring to ?

It’s your choice to under rate him. I think it’s a foolish choice but it is your choice.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
1) Bush was wrong to start Iraq War, which mostly served to empower Iran and ignite ISIS.
2) Obama was wrong to pull out without keeping bases for future needs, keeping oil.
Of these two, the latter was more unforgivable, because it was truly stupid. Bush made a mistake, but I truly believe he thought the region was redeemable by democracy, given a chance. NOW WE KNOW better the true nature of Islamic Civilization.
You are doing a whole bunch of that ‘imagining’ that Cruz asked you to. No facts, just your imagination.

I waited for over 10 years after the Iraq war before saying to myself
WELL IF THEY HAD 10 YEARS AND DIDN’T FIND THE WEAPONS THE LIBS I GUESS WERE RIGHT.
If the weapons went to Syria as the excuse goes, they would have turned up when the UN arranged for Syrian WMD to be destroyed, and rebels took over large portions of Syria. So no WMD found that were not previously known about.
I kind of feel Powell is right we were misled. Hussein was a monster, but Bin Laden was responsible for 911.
Saudi Arabia wanted to hand him over to us on a Silver Platter, BJ Clinton didn’t want him, Trump warned about him before the 911

Saddam Hussein no longer rules Iraq.
Obama withdrew US troops from Iraq
The Withdrawal led to the success of ISIS across Iraq and Syria.
Bush supported the military and Obama opposes it.
Bush commanded a military force that defeated Iraq and replaced the government. Obama and Bush opponents have weakened our global position.

And Dick Cheney on Bret Baier just underscored my earlier comment. Iraq was improving until 0bama pulled out. Whether Trump is saying that now is fine..but you can’t take back the words from Saturday night once they leave his mouth.
Honestly, I think if it gets too tough on him, he will drop out. He said other things Saturday night that gave me pause. For example, he is self-funded and that is not lost on me...but he stated it during the debate as if he was a bit indredulous that people didn’t appreciate that...or at least it seemed that way to me. As long as he’s winning in polls, he’ll go on..but if he starts slipping, new ball game. Flame away
