‘Millions’ of Republicans Say Iraq War was a ‘Disaster’: Laura Ingraham Supports Trump
Impulse today ^ | Feb.15, 2016 | Derek Flynn

Laura Ingraham, who is a conservative radio host, gave a warning to the GOP presidential candidates that they should stop defending the actions of President George W. Bush because "millions and millions" of Republican voters believe the Iraq War that he got the United States into was a mistake.

During the CBS hosted GOP Republican presidential debate last Saturday night, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump accused George W. Bush of lying about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction.

"Obviously, the war in Iraq was a big, fat mistake, all right?" Trump said. "They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction. There were none, and they knew there were none."

These comments by Trump come just two days before George W. Bush goes out to campaign for his younger brother, Jeb Bush, in South Carolina.

The hosts of Fox News were told by Ingraham that Trump's criticism of Bush was risky, but also a very calculated strategy.

"He's thinking that there are millions and millions of Republican voters who have had the luxury of time to look back on whether the war in Iraq was really a good idea," Ingraham explained. "And all the money we spent, and all the men and women we lost. And I think a lot of Republicans -- the establishment doesn't like to hear this -- millions and millions of Americans probably agree with Trump."

"This was a disaster for the United States," Ingraham added. "We've lost influence in the Middle East; we've toppled dictators who probably had their finger on the dice of what was going to be a flood of tumult. And he's betting that people aren't going to just reject the Republican Party of today, they're going to reject the Republican Party of the Bushes.'"

"If they think they are going to re-litigate the Iraq war throughout the United States in this primary process and that's going to end well for them, I don't think it is."

And some say that Bush was lied to.

As commander in chief, he was in position to insist that the intel be reliable. It would be better not to send young men to die for a "maybe".

A week or so ago I saw a show on TV about Trump's jet that he flies around the world in. A couple of thought s I had while watching it was:

1) I wouldn't want to work for Trump. Too demanding for what I like in a boss.

2) The people that DO work for him DO like him as a boss and are extremely loyal. Tells me a lot about what kind of people he'd surround himself with if elected.

Bush/Cheney didn’t care about our military. Did you see below that the amazing state of the art facilities Bush built for his precious illegal aliens? They even put out toll free #’s for aliens to call if they felt they were ‘mistreated’ in these facilities....but the soldiers had NO ONE to call.

[snip]El Paso Service Processing Center - (illegal aliens, criminal aliens)

Operations Support consists of personnel tasked with providing recreation activities, food service, supply, budget, procurement, maintenance and computer support for the Service Processing Center. The processing center completed the construction of new Executive Office for Immigration Review courtrooms and offices, and processing, dining, medical, and laundry facilities—all of which are state of the art.

Accessibility for Individuals with Special Needs:
There are parking areas, entrances, and other necessary accommodations for any individuals with special needs.

We strive to provide quality service to people in our custody, their loved ones and friends, and to their official representatives. If we have not lived up to this commitment, we would like to know. If we have met or exceeded your expectations, please let us know that as well. http://towncriernews.blogspot.com/2008/04/shame.html

Thanks, B. I enlisted the day Reagan was inaugurated and got out as soon as I could after Bush 41 got in. I have a son in the Naval Academy and another applying. I think these stupid wars as Saudi mercenaries need to stop.

I wish the argument would be along the lines of the early withdrawal by 0bama for political points. That, imo, should be the starting point for united Republican candidates to concentrate on. But now we’re re-litigating the Bush administration instead of focusing on 0bama’s disaster.

I agree. And it wasn't just WMD with Saddam. There was evidence that there were training facilities for terrorists in Iraq. And there is a lot to be said for neutralizing a loose cannon like Saddam in a post 9-11 world.

Also, Trump blamed W for 9-11. I can't believe so many Freepers are letting him slide on that.

"Boston marriage"

Had not heard that term in 50 years. That was when "Uncle" Jim passed away. She was my favorite uncle as a child.

Imo

Bush wanted sad am dead. He had planned to kill his father when he went to Kuwait

Iran on the other was a festering stew of terror plots
Threats against the west and they acted on it. That was awar I could have supported

It was soon clear nomstrongmleader in Iraq. Fromm the start I supported three countries including Kurdistan. F. Turkey. We can relocate with the Kurds and let the Muslims kill each other off

Too late now. And Iran is a much mores serious threat and we’ve been deballed

Trumps operating so far above and ahead of everyone - people dont understand...

Very well said.

Just 2 weeks ago, people were saying Trump was finished because he came in 2d place in Iowa and never even bothered to campaign there.

"He must not know what he's doing! He's not an experienced politician! Everybody knows you're supposed to live in Iowa for an entire year and spend millions of dollars there!!"

Trump didn't campaign in Iowa a lot because he's been running a NATIONAL campaign for months.

Trump didn't need to WIN Iowa. All Iowa does is reduce the field and is quickly forgotten.

Trump knows EXACTLY what he's doing. He's the Republican candidate we've been wanting for 25 years, and people are complaining. I don't get it.

Part of the fruit of the Great Blunder that was the Iraq War of 2003 was the election of the Kenyan in 2008.

You think we would have had a Kenyan if there had not been that Great Blunder?

I dont.

I attribute the Great Usurpation DIRECTLY to the Great Blunder.

What I never understood is that the convoys going into Syria didn’t seem to be a big deal to the administration that supposedly wanted to stop WMDs from falling into the wrong hands. Even years and years later I have never heard a good explanation from anyone in the administration as to why it didn’t seem to be a big deal to them.

Single handedly...How? Obummer’s election and re-election was based on voter apathy towards really weak Republican apparatus candidates.

Even though you were mean to me about my boy Rudy (who would have crushed “Obama”), you are 100% correct about this.
