MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. —

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said Monday that the Republican party is breaking its pledge to stay neutral while pouncing on GOP rivals who attacked him at a weekend debate.

“I have never met people like politicians. They are the most dishonest people I have ever met,” the New York billionaire said during a stop at Mount Pleasant hotel on Monday. “They lie, lie, lie and then they apologize.”

Trump suggested that the Republican National Committee was not honoring a pledge to not hurt his campaign if the businessman promised not to mount a third-party presidential run

The pledge was to support whoever won the nomination, not to forego running third party. The premise of the article is a fiction.

Lie... Lie... Lie.... Just like your standard bearer Cruz who has turned out to be a pathetic liar. For the sake of God can you be honest about at least something!!!!!!!

Not that it makes any difference to you, but I saw the rally and the news conference.. Mkay!! You lie!!

Trump said that the RNC had broken its word. He never said he was really considering third party... Why the hell are you lying?

Trump needed to remind the RNC that they are also acting just like Cruz by packing the audience with donors. Don't you think it is fair to do that?

Geez! The lying by Cruz fans is really pathetic.

I would vote for Trump 3rd party before the GOPe candidates.

Cruz is not GOP-e. He is a conservative constitutionalist!

OH GOOD BLOODY GRIEF! Who in Sam Hill wants to put up with 4 or 8 years of Trump’s manipulation tactics? He’s the biggest drama queen I’ve ever seen.

BTW, you do understand that he’s not a conservative, don’t you? If you’re not all that into conservatism, it probably doesn’t bother you. If you’re serious about your conservatism, you should be tired of this nonsense too.

This race is such a farce on both sides. If Hillary wins the nomination millions of young Bernie supporters will cry foul ask him to run third party. Or they will stay home and not vote. Could you imagine a race between Cruz and Clinton with Trump AND Sanders running independently???

This article and the post title is total bullsh*t.

NOWHERE did Trump state he was going to “run third party.”

You Cruz supporters will stop at nothing to get your bible-thumping holy roller a leg up. But the number one obstacle you face is that most people hate Cruz’ guts in about five minutes after meeting him.

Exactly. Trump has controlled the media and the process like nobody else. He’s done everything we wanted McCain and Romney to do.

And what do Cruz supporters do? Complain that Trump is doing it!

They are not conservative if they back the RNC and the status quo.

Oh my God you can’t be serious...

Which debate did you watch on Saturday night?

If the party does harm to Trump, I sure hope he does run third party.

The Republican party is dead to most of us anyway.

I saw the speech. Donald Trump said the RNC had defaulted on the agreement he signed to support the party nominee, by stacking the audience with anti-Trump people and allowing them to behave badly. He repeated this at his press conference this afternoon. He did not say what he would do as the result of the RNC being in default.

The RNC is now asking themselves, is it worth it to continue trying to stop Donald Trump? If there is a Trump blow-out victory on Saturday in South Carolina, then I expect them to join the group of establishment people who have been calling the Trump campaign and asking to come on board.

Trump threatens a lawsuit here:

“One of the ways I can fight back is to bring a lawsuit against him relative to the fact that he was born in Canada and therefore cannot be President. If he doesn’t take down his false ads and retract his lies, I will do so immediately. Additionally, the RNC should intervene and if they don’t they are in default of their pledge to me.”

You can't defend this seriously... what kind of Conservative does this?

What kind of party packs its debate with shills who consistently booed the front runner (Trump) and the most conservative candidate (Cruz)?

The crowd was there to cheer on Bush and Rubio, and the RNC was behind who got the tickets.

I agree this thread is a great example of a non story being misrepresented as a story.
