We're just one week away from the South Carolina primary and tonight the remaining six presidential candidates took the debate stage in Greenville to make a final push. Debate moderator John Dickerson opened the night with a moment of silence dedicated to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who died earlier today after serving for three decades on the high court.
The debate, hosted by CBS News, was certainly the most entertaining of the cycle with candidates repeatedly going after each other with an audience that loudly booed throughout the night.(snip)
2) Trump said Planned Parenthood does "many wonderful things for women's health" while trying at the same time to dismiss abortion. Keep in mind Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards makes this same argument in order to keep $500 million in taxpayer funding each year. The abortion giant repeatedly claims it only uses taxpayer money for women's health, not for abortion, ignoring the fact that money is fungible. Trump made that argument for Planned Parenthood tonight from the Republican, pro-life debate stage. There's also this:

“Never thought that I would see the day where Christians are mocked on FR for supporting life. Or that the matter of the very bedrock of Conservatism ... the unalienable right to life ... would be rationalized away.”
Haven’t you heard? Conservatism isn’t important any more. Principles aren’t important any more.
The only thing that counts is high poll numbers. Just ask him.
Name calling = zero credibility.
Go Trump!
It seems totally reasonable to say "drop providing abortions to keep your funding". It's a win-win. Either they stop providing abortion or they lose their funding.
Isn't that how good deals are made?
You never answered the question. Business loans are different than being paid directly.
So you are fine with her making $800K/yr from Goldman Sachs. Sorry, I don’t trust any of them including Saint Cruz.
“I just don’t trust groups like PP who sell baby parts to provide these services and definitely don’t support federal funds going to a group which has no moral compass whatsoever.”
The bottom line is this; the decision to commit murder is the sole responsibility of the murderer when it comes to their soul. That includes abortion. All the prevention and laws in the world can’t prevent sin. A Christian’s sole responsibility is to preach the forgiveness of sin through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice. It is not to set one’s self up as judge and jury in worldly affairs.
John 21:20-22
“Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said “Lord, who is going to betray you?) When Peter saw him, he asked, Lord, what about him? Jesus answered, If I want him to remain alive until I return; what is that to you? YOU must follow me.”
It’s for you to follow your convictions. To criticize Trump is your right. But be careful about condemning whole groups of people to judgments that aren’t yours to hand out. You most likely sit in the same church with people that have done worse deeds than Trump. God only knows; you do not.
Planned Parenthood is just like the knives in your kitchen. It takes a murderer to make them a murder weapon. Perhaps a better strategy for all of us would be to reach those who don’t think abortion is murder before they condemn themselves. There are efforts underway to require that a mother look at her fetus on ultrasound before making the commitment to have an abortion. This puts the decision to commit murder squarely on the shoulders on which it should rest; the murderer herself. Many excuses for wrongdoing will hold up in earthly courts that will absolutely not save lost souls in Judgement.
Donald Trump has changed his views on many things including abortion, but isn’t allowed that privilege by some holier than thou Christians. My opinion is that they will be judged according to their own methods just like Scripture says they will.
Trump received loans for them (or not, I'll accept your research). He pays them back with interest.
How does that argument help Cruz? FWIW, one of the items on that very high pile of stuff that's turned me against Cruz is that Heidi is on leave, so still influenced by them. Is she fair game as a campaign issue? Yes, since she's actively involved in fund raising.
Another Cruz supporter excuse for dishonesty!
He also forgot oft-confused, ignorant and incoherent... :-)
So how does that work?
Is there one Planned Parenthood bank account for condoms and one for killing babies?
Does Trump understand how businesses work?
Is he stupid?
Is he playing to the Left for the general?
Or does he just not care?
And foul mouthed, cradle robber, dishonest, cheap labor, carnival barker.
To defend anything, anything at all done by Planned Parenthood is to defend and support infanticide!
Planned Parenthood has broken so many laws as to be stunning if it weren't a fact and to defend forcing every American through their taxes to give Planned Parenthood one dime is criminal.
Anyone running for the highest office in the land who defends a bunch of folk who refuse to report repeated child rape (if you were a teacher and didn't report this, you'd be in jail); they abort babies well beyond the "cutoff" date; they solicit children at school and even run their "clinics" at some schools; they treat children who've gotten venereal disease (again a crime not to report) without parental notification - all with OUR MONEY!
................ and Donald Trump supports giving them MORE MONEY!
I think its a choice of getting most of the loaf today, or getting nothing and “feeling righteous” to some of these guys.
Stopping the abortion funding now is 95% of the mission.
Hmm. I thought Planned Parenthood was an organization made up of humans who have free agency in deciding how to act.
I didn't realize they were inanimate objects.
Trump's continued support for PP shows that he does not understand the issue at all. Which isn't all that surprising since his "conversion" is rather new, if it actually exists at all.
How about we don't elect a recent "convert" to be leader?
Let Trump prove himself to have a conservative record doing something, anything else in a lower office before making him our savior.
Thank you, Katie, for making my point which I posted Sat night during the Debate...
The govt has NO business funding PP or anything like it...
Except VA/military hospitals ....
Exactly....and, ummm, would you say mammos are for women’s health?
Guess who doesn’t offer them.....
You’re right...
Let’s all just chuck the Word of God, Commandments, Faith, the whole ball of wax and just worship Ba’al and chew peyote buttons....
Or a great Super Bowl commercial by Doritos showing a baby in utero as a Real Human Being!
Hey, you can’t do THAT!
That absurd retort is not a refutation of the rampant hypocrisy among evangelicals. Peyote was a nice touch, though.
Perhaps instead of railing against the world, you could try cleaning out the inside of the cup.
Trump freaks out when asked about abortion again
And people wonder why conservatives do not trust this arrogant clown??
