Trump Has Huge Lead Over Cruz in Two SC Polls
by Cathy Burke Donald Trump has a commanding lead in the GOP presidential primary field in South Carolina in two new polls – including one in which the real estate billionaire has more than double the support of his nearest rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
The surveys,
the South Carolina House Republican Caucus, and the
Opinion Savvy Poll, come just eight days ahead of the Palmetto State's Feb. 20 primary.
Here's the breakdown in the South Carolina House Republican Caucus survey:
- Trump: 34.5 percent
- Cruz: 15.5 percent
- Florida Gov. Jeb Bush: 13 percent
- Florida Sen. Marco Rubio: 12.5 percent
- Ohio Gov. John Kasich: 8.5 percent
- Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson: 5 percent
- Undecided: 11 percent
Trump beats the competition among conservatives, moderates, libertarians, independent and across age groups – and even edges out Cruz with tea party Republicans, 37 percent to 36 percent.
The results were posted
by The Hill.
In the Opinion Savvy survey, the results show:

Um, you’re cruising for being turned over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
Just warnin’ ya. There’s nothing heroic about this. Nothing.

A Harvard educated government lawyer with financial ties to Wall St. doesnât exactly fit the mold of an authentic anti-establishment figure, wouldnât you agree?I have yet to hear him rail against the GOPe. Sure, he get's profanely perturbed when someone calls him out on who he is. But there has been nothing to indicate that he even understands what the GOPe is. This is the same Donald Trump that supported GOPe candidates over their TEA Party challengers.

Donald? It’s ironic, when I used Cruz’s first name, Rafael, some people become angry and asked what my “motives” were.
The federation of frauds in D.C. are going to get KO’d.

It was strange to me that the govt form Cruz submitted showing his financials the name was listed as “Ted Cruz”.
My legal name is William, everybody calls me Bill, but I never filed a tax return or mortgage or car title, or whatever with a nickname.

"He was also a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review (where he is listed as "Rafael E. Cruz") Yes yes, but when he's running for election, no "Rafael" please.
He's no different than the rest in the D.C. federation. But he sure was able to hoodwink some of the folks who wear their religion on their sleeves.

I agree, but Cruz is built to not go down without a fight, and unfortunately that means he has to go negative against the leader . . . like saying he would appoint liberal justices and a few other unfounded assertions.
Of course Trump is Trump. He will always hit back harder than he has been hit.
Despite all that, they were both head and shoulders above the others on the stage.

Trump has said, many times, that we (US gov’t) spend far too much money.
‘Tis hard to intrude / grow / oppress without money.
Of course, Trump may just be speaking of efficiency vs. waste, but he also talks about business being crippled by over-regulation.
It has to be your judgment, made from as much unbiased research as you can do. I’m inclined to believe a shyster would not get as far as Trump has, in business, for as long as he has. It’d catch up to him. But, he certainly is a good salesman.
