Management for 74-year-old author of The God Delusion say he suffered âminor strokeâ in UK on Saturday but has already returned home from hospital
But the health scare has caused him to postpone his tour, his management said in a message passed on to ticket holders on Friday.
...By Thursday he had recovered enough to use Twitter, plugging a book called God: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction, for which he had written the foreword.
..A steadfast critic of religion, who nevertheless recently criticised leading UK cinema chains for refusing to screen an advert featuring the Lordâs Prayer, Dawkins has regularly been named one of Britainâs top public intellectuals.

That is my single prayer for the extreme cases of vitriolic hate.. the same resurrection power that changed Saul, can change the darkest evil. People think I am a little um.. unorthodox for praying that a child molester could be changed. I think they are uncomfortable with that. But what a powerful witness Saul turned out to be, regardless of his past.
The problem with blind faith in atheism (as with blind belief in a specific set of conditions that make God) is that neither are provable
Faith is personal. No need to rip someone’s faith to ‘prove’ your faith.
If you are going to slag us off, do better.
He’s still alive ... he still has the opportunity to repent.
God is watching.
May His will be done
I pray that God will use this to bring Dawkins to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
So he believes that upon death he will just...disappear. You know he has to be thinking about that now.
Thanks, I was wondering.
Hope he’s OK.
We should pray for our enemies.
Hitchens did not have a dead-bed conversion or anything like that. He was meeting with atheists via scype the week he died. These guys are the un-church militant. Big bores! Check out a video of Camille Paglia just tearing these guys a new one on their lack of knowledge in comparative religion!
Chocolate Thunder
A stroke ... In this case, also known as God’s Holy Brain Grenade.
The private Hitchens was different than the public Hitchens playing up his part as atheist rock star. Privately, he at a minimum was willing to hear the Gospel. Whether it led to a “deathbed conversion” or not is between him and God, but he was certainly presented the Gospel in his last days and was not an unwilling listener.
I’m looking forward to reading this book about it —http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010R1DZJO?keywords=the%20faith%20of%20christopher%20hitchens&qid=1455281509&ref_=sr_1_1&s=books&sr=1-1.
> For 5 points, who is this guy?
I see that dartuser has already given his nickname, Chocolate Thunder (actually that and his last name are all I recalled, so I had to look up his first name). It’s Darryl Dawkins. He was the center who was famous for a while for breaking glass backboards with his dunks, before they started using beakaway rims. The one image I have is of him ducking and looking down as he’s showered with glass.
IIRC, Dawkins once admitted that he lacked absolute incontrovertible proof that there is no God.
Kind of approaching agnosticism from the opposite direction.
This is why I can’t see how Steven Hawking can make a blanket statement that there is definitely no God. An absurdity. He has no idea where the Big Bang came from. They can only postulate.
Not a very scientific approach.
Better to leave science to the scientists and faith in God to those who believe. There are brilliant men in both fields who dabble in both.
