(CNN)Ted Cruz will launch his most forceful attack yet against Donald Trump in a TV ad that accuses Trump of buying political influence "in a pattern of sleaze stretching back decades."
The 60-second spot, shared first with CNN, is part of a six-figure ad buy that will hit voters' TV screens across South Carolina starting as early as Thursday. It centers around Vera Coking, an elderly widow who faced the threat of losing her home in Atlantic City when the city tried to seize it through eminent domain â in order to allow Trump to build a casino parking lot.
"Vera Coking's home was all she had left but it stood in Donald Trump's way and the limousine parking lot he wanted for his casino," the narrator says. "To him, she was a nobody."
The ad flashes to an October 16 Washington Post article about Trump's ties to the mob in Atlantic City, and slams the real estate mogul for having "bankrolled politicians to steamroll the little guy -- a pattern of sleaze stretching back decades."

Rich private interest using their crony government connections to take private property for their own private interest.
Pure unadulterated sleaze by the Cruz campaign. Taking right off from the sleaze he showed in Iowa.
Oh! The one where Ted plays with his dollies?
Blah blah blah blah?
In the 1960’s, my dad owned a small farm where I-40 was coming through NC. The state enforced eminent domain and they purchased the land from my dad at fair market value. There is nothing new with eminent domain, it has been around forever.
She didn’t lose crap. Trump made a great offer she would later wish she took. Today I have lost all respect for Cruz.
Marco slammed them for not serving in uniform...eh, never mind.
Didn't Trump offer her twice what the property was worth?
Abuse? Really? Is the keystone pipeline abuse?
How about a baseball stadium?
Or Condos by the ocean?
Or upper middles class homes?
Also Trump did not use eminent domain, Atlantic City did.
Again, why does Cruz need to lie?
Except of course in your example it was for a public purpose, not a private one, a big difference.
Cruz is pretty sly.
He launches his own sleazy ads after Trump reports he’ll do positive ads.
Hey Ted...tell us about those bank loans you got but forgot to disclose.
I beg to differ. It doesn't rise to the level of "unadulterated sleaze". It's just another amateurish, fail from Cruz. #cringewithcruz
Hit Piece! How dare someone criticize Trump, especially for sleaze, just because he was on Kardashian-style Reality TV or put gay activists to judge beauty pageants!
Trump has admitted buying politicians.
Sleazy?
Conservatives USED to think so.
“Except of course in your example it was for a public purpose, not a private one, a big difference.”
No difference at all.
You do know that Trump is running attack ads against Cruz as we speak, right?
Trump is running a positive, uplifting campaign.
Lol
Excellent commercial. It does exactly what Senator Cruz needs to do, it exposes that Trump is a false populist. That, like driving a stick through the heart of a vampire, is the only way to kill Trump’s support.
Its becoming evident that Trumps supporters don’t seem to care about conservativism as long as they can naively believe that Trump cares about them. So, Cruz is showing that Trump is not a man of the people but rather a corrupt businessman who is happy to crush anyone who gets in his way. This is how Trump will be defeated.
