Cruz campaign aide: Trump running 'the Seinfeld candidacy'
CNN ^ | February 10, 2016 | Jason Squitieri

(CNN)The national spokesman for Ted Cruz's presidential campaign is calling the Donald Trump campaign "the Seinfeld candidacy," because as he puts it, "The whole campaign is about nothing."

Rick Tyler told CNN's Erin Burnett that Trump says "nothing about immigration, nothing about job creation, nothing about what's going on in North Korea, nothing about ISIS. I mean this is amazing."

Tyler said Cruz is running a campaign about conservative issues and that Trump fails to discuss the issues because he isn't a true conservative.

Both Trump and Cruz are eying key primaries in southern states starting with South Carolina, which holds its primary February 20.

Tyler added that "Donald Trump's own worst enemy is himself." ...

"The campaign about nothing."

That could stick.

With Trump, there's no there, there.

"The whole campaign is about nothing."

So why's everybody following him?

Good question.

I was not pinging others. I added those I saw as both Trump and Cruz supporters (I might have been wrong, but I thought it was a fair mix). My point is not to put one contender above the other, but to simply say that supporters for both - at least on FR - are for the most part similar people, and the best approach is to avoid insults. That way, whichever candidate comes out ahead can more or less count on the support of the other's supporters, similar to how things were before Trump and Cruz fell out. That's an unstoppable ticket. Anything else means Bush/Rubio, and eventually Hillary.

I am personally not a participant in the Trump vs Cruz spiels, and my post was simply that Trump/Cruz supporters need to stop attacking each other (something BOTH sides are doing).

Go after the spelling instead of refuting facts. I get it, it’s your best bet, but still weak on your part.

Some desire more substance, positions;

Trump has published positions regarding immigration, taxes, trade, and the like.

These positions are eminently conservative.

Furthermore, they are also substantial.

The premise of this anti-Trump post is ludicrous on its face. It's nothing more than disposable campaign tripe that is devoid of any real content or critical value.

In short, it shows that the Cruz camp is grasping at straws, hoping (and praying, of course) that something will finally "stick".

You can smell the desperation in the Cruz tent.

Donald Trump has harnessed something incredibly real and powerful in this election cycle, and it cannot be flippantly dismissed by Cruz supporters. In feebly attempting to do so, Cruz fanboys only marginalize themselves.

Don't worry, Cruzers! If Trump fails, Cruz will probably acquire Trump's supporters, essentially by default.

Either man would make a fine President. Why? Because they are both good Americans who are passionate, love their country, and whose hearts are in the right place.

Trump is so stupid and his message so hollow that he won every demographic in a swing state last night. That must really sting. Looking forward to SC? I wouldn’t bother lol.

I am saying that someone can be as conservative as the Pope is Catholic and if they have no pragmatic way to practice their faith, they do no good. Trump has seen the light and will be zealous for our cause. As Sarah Palin said:

“Thankfully, Americans are on to the media’s games. The politics of personal destruction has lost its shock value. We have serious problems in this country. Ferreting through old divorce records and playing gotcha with past misstatements are just stupid distractions. Shouts of, “But he donated to Democrats!” won’t sway Trump enthusiasts. The man built a skyscraper in New York City—of course, he had donated to Democrats. If he was building it in Salt Lake City, I’m sure he would have donated to Republicans. “But he changed his mind on positions!” Reagan had been an FDR Democrat. Should we hold that against him or be grateful he saw the light?”

Thought you might like this….

“As if to wish this theory into being after the caucuses, it seemed as if every second-rate Republican consultant and pundit began tweeting that Donald Trump was a “loser.”

Who are the losers now?

So a campaign about nothing is beating the pants off Cruz?

What a brilliant admission.

“Seinfeld was a very successful show.”

Lol. I was thinking the same thing. The other thing I thought was that it was probably a high tech, focus grouped, data mined phrase rather than something organically derived.

It’s all a plot since the other creator of Seinfeld, Larry David does the Bernie Sanders imitation.

You nailed it, a natural born citizen should not have to renounce his Canadian citizenship 40 years later. And they say Trump changes positions!

Cruz has an amazing record.

Trumps record is one of extreme liberalism.
Why on earth would I give him a chance???
