This is why Trump mentions Ford Motor Co. during his rallies. He is shaming them for it.

Or - making the point of how toxic our environment has become for those who stay in America because of what the politicians are doing....

They don't seem very ashamed. This is almost an "in your face" to Trump.

Here's a situation that demonstrates the paradox for a union like the UAW:

1. The job of the UAW (right now) is to get the best deal for their members who work for the Big Three auto makers.

2. On the other hand, their members are best served if their pension fund is invested in companies that have no UAW members working for them.

Go figure.

This is why I have no real stake in these "free trade" discussions. The issues are too complicated for most people to understand, and you eventually end up with competing economic pressures that mean you're going to alienate at least half the people in any group, regardless of the outcome.

If you want fewer Mexicans coming to the U.S., you should be happy when factories are

Because we get the poor and criminals who come here, collect welfare and send it back to Mexico to the tune of 28 billion, yes billion a year. Our tax money that doesn’t circulate through our economy.

Pretty ballsy move on Ford’s part considering who the next President is going to be, I would say Ford is doing an “in your face move” aimed at the Donald. Big mistake by Ford.

The thing that kills those jobs is the Unions. Period. Still, the contradiction with immigration and jobs is very interesting.

I am looking forward to paying a lot less for Ford products now the wetbacks make them. /SARC

Really? And what about call center jobs and IT jobs and financial sector jobs and medical sector jobs and all the other non-union jobs that have been shipped overseas in the past two decades? Which outnumber autoworker jobs lost by the tens of thousands? And which none of the candidates are talking about? You can't blame that on Unions but you blame the Ford move on them. Curious.

I want my cars built here and a wall. Problem solved.

Do Mexican auto workers spend their paychecks in Detroit or San Luis Potosi?

Do they pay taxes to Mexico City or Washington DC?

Take your time answering...

Proves Trump’s point. This should get him a few more votes.

The Ford Fusion I drive was built in Mexico. All you complaining should really do a web search on Ford factories around the world. Or any other manufacturere for that matter.

International trade is more political than it is economic. We all can vote and we will find someone with the political will of George Washington to to the right thing and toss Free Traitors™ into the dust bin of history.

Congratulations. We’ve looked at Suburu’s. I drove the Forester, need to go back and drive the Outback. Didn’t know they had a plant in Indiana.
