Now that Cruz regularly polls toward the top of an ever-shrinking field, his early tenure bears closer scrutiny. Cruz has gained fame as a social conservative and an unwavering opponent of Obamacare. In his first major leadership role, however, he developed economic policy as the director of the Federal Trade Commission's Office of Policy Planning...

MUST-READ BUMP
>>> Its hard to understand why some so offhandedly trash him. And on this site. <<<
Because they have no logical reason for supporting their candidate perhaps?
Right. It’s an impersonal blog.
Thanks.
What really sealed it for me was the phony outrage over the Carson story last week. It was almost a textbook case of cognitive dissonance. To himself and his followers, Trump is a winner. Period. Thus, he and his follower simply couldn’t mentally accept the fact that he had not won in Iowa, so, in order to re-establish cognitive consonance, a ‘story’ had to be concocted as to why he supposedly didn’t really lose. That so many folks on this site, on the basis of no evidence at all, eagerly swallowed that story is disturbing.
Yep. He was a conservative hero until Trump vomited himself into the race. Now Cruz is supposedly the Antichrist. Go figure.
Great Read. Thanks for posting!!!
I enjoyed the article as well.
I'm always impressed with Senator Cruz's ability to communicate; and, it's fun to compare and contrast Cruz's mastery of speech. Senator Cruz often starts with a general statement of interest then backs it up with convincing specifics (including a thorough knowledge of things geopolitical). Contrast Cruz's abilities with Mister Trump's inarticulate and hollow braggadocio.
My pleasure :o)
Ted Cruz 2016!
I ask myself fequently what many people know about him that I apparently don’t. And I try to keep up. I saw it mentioned here, for instance, that he might be gay, that would account for his wife’s depression, that he sings Broadway show tunes, etc.. Then I learned that when he’s having a bad day, he does call his wife and sing show tunes. So, trivial or substantive, I try to look into it, but I don’t get the hostility to his candidacy, either.
Cruz upsets the ‘free lunch and work avoiders’ and who want the government to care for them from birth to death.
Go Cruz!
He's done pretty well as a Fed drone.
It is disheartening, to be sure.
Trump has been my only choice in the FR caucus and I said Trump should stop whining about Iowa and move on, but that's just me.
He said only the government could create money that had value.<<
and you immediately won that debate by pointing out what countries???????
No huge fan of the FED....BUT...
Are you confusing John Maynard Friedman with John Maynard Keynes.
Yes - just my own lame sense of humor.
I pointed out the USA from 1832-1863, in which we had a robust growing economy after 1837 and no national bank. Individual banks printed their own money, backed by gold. Even the Panic of 1857, caused entirely by the Dred Scott case, only affected the north-—which hadn’t yet adopted branch banking like the south.
The money printing power, backed by gold, worked just fine. I think it could be expanded to backed by whatever people trust.
