Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton just gave his critics all the ammunition they need.
Already under fire for how he conducts himself on the field, Newton went silent after his team's 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Super Bowl 50, sulking at the podium and essentially refusing to answer questions.

Nothing wrong with having fun. Do it in a classy respectful way though. I think Manning and Brady have fun when they win. I think Donovan McNabb and Doug Williams had fun when they played and won. Then again they were much more mature than Cam. I get it. You are a Panther fan and Cam is your QB. Hopefully he will mature. I would bet money that he won’t but hope I’m wrong.
It might have been the second call against the defense for a takedown holding.
seeing it in slow motion, it appears he could have done better on the ricochet. It hit him in the thigh and he tried to grab it with his hand(s). The problem is, the play didn't happen in slow motion. I give him a pass both ways.
Hell yea and God bless him
I remember whining to my dad about a girl who left me at age 23
He pulled the car over ....between Beaumont and Winnie.....we had a pipeline Const company then and hed flown in to kick dirt in the ditch and intimidate
Old school construction outfit...
I was spread boss......anyhow he looked at me and said at 23 He was fresh out of VMI as a 2nd lt. and at tac fighter school in Tuscon which in the mid 50s had a high KIA in training rate....and he reminded me my mom woulda been at home at base housing with me in a crib
So for me to quit whining and get over it.....that there were a buttload of women out there still.....and damn I was in Texas!
So yeah....24 was old in Vietnam
You are correct.
In honor of [Cooper] Manning, Peyton donned his brother's jersey number, 18, when he began his professional career in the National Football League in 1998.

Nice of you to remember that.
I just wanted a fair game. Didn’t get it.
Those are the guys I look up to. Not some pouty football player.

If you don’t understand the tackle box then you don’t know football. Try again next year.
That’s ridiculous — like the crowd the booed Brady prior to the game.
Anyway, it was good game. And a legendary ending for Manning and the Bronco’s defense.
Gene, they booed the heck out of him and it was a good game.
I know they have a pic of them all together.
I just saw in the Daily Mail that that play occurred when the Broncos scored after he had been strip sacked.
Honestly, he didn’t look right from the beginning of the game. I thought he came out lacking poise and confidence. I felt like the momentum was for the Broncos almost immediately. You could see his frustration, and he looked like he was pouting and sulking because it wasn’t as easy as it had been for him this year. I don’t know what he was thinking on that fumble. Why didn’t he try to pick it up?
The bottom line is if you are going to celebrate and make a lot of noise when you win, you have to be able to do the converse and be humble when you lose. Take your lumps and answer the questions. I can only imagine how hard it would be having to talk to the media after you lose the biggest game of your career, but that’s the nature of the business. Every QB and coach has to do it.
Liars figure, figures don’t lie.
They come out with viewership yet?
Peyton Manning is obviously not down with the struggle.
I remember Manning losing a Super Bowl and running off the field and not talking to anyone. His actions were universally condemned. He later said it was the other QB’s night and he didn’t want to take away the spotlight.
I would imagine Newton knew if he tried to speak he’d bawl like a baby. So he walked off.

I can’t answer for him. I know he does quite a bit for the children here in Charlotte.
I just think he was defeated by a better team. Peyton Manning had his team ready.
Our defense was ready but we could not move the ball on offense.
I am a bit tired of everybody attacking Cam Newton, he loves this game and got beat. He’ll get over it.
I am very proud of Manning and what he brings to the game.
It is a lesson for all!
