...Under relentless attack from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who likened him to Barack Obama in 2008 as an inexperienced lightweight in over his head, Rubio found himself defaulting to the exact same sound bite four times over - and I mean exact.
He said he wanted to dispel the "fiction that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing." Christie pushed back. And Rubio said: "This notion that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing is just not true. He knows exactly what he's doing."
"There it is," Christie said, "the memorized 25-second speech."
In response, Rubio appeared to have been momentarily possessed by a demon who wanted him to prove Christie right, because he said it a third time: "We are not facing a president that doesn't know what he's doing. He knows what he is doing."
...Donald Trump['s] bizarre moment [was] when he literally told Jeb Bush to be quiet.... there was nothing even remotely funny about it. And when the crowd in Manchester booed, he accused them of being Bush donors and campaign plants.

Gets the better?
Way understated headline.
Christie finished off Rubio
Like Trump finished off Bush.
Laughed when he pointed out how the RNC distributed the tickets and then they booed him thinking they would silence him.
Rubio had a nightmare night, Christie really put him in his place, but also showed how Rubio has rehearsed words and is lost without them.
Bush trying to so like Kasich to be counted. Major flops.
Carson hardly got a look in and I think he will drop out soon.
I'm wondering if the Cruz folks miscalculated. Are any votes lost by Rubio going to go to Cruz, or will they be split among the Three Govs, which could hurt Cruz?
Rubio was right about Obama. He knows exactly what he’s doing and everyone on the stage knew that but didn’t want to say it for whatever reason.
Christie's pummeling of Rubio was one of the most memorable debate moments in recent history.
He totally exposed Rubio as not ready for the big leagues.
I cannot imagine how Rubio gets through New Hampshire, and without a strong showing there, I don't know how he gains traction otherwise.
The Dan Quail moment is now replaced by the Marco moment.
See the Drudge pic, if you haven’t - it’s a classic!
Christie beat the hell out of Rubio but Rubio is exactly right about Obama.
He did no such thing.
Good one!
I wrote earlier that the Dean Scream has been replaced by the Rubio Repeat. GMTA.
Christie’s about as popular as licorice ice cream in most of the nation but the liberal northeast media love liberal northeast politicians regardless of party.
If Christie picked on me I would have a large stack of drymounted posters of Newark, Trenton and other lovely Garden State spots at the ready.
I watched the debate last night, and I agree with what Rubio said about Obama. However, when he kept repeating the line, I didn't understand why he was doing that. I got the impression that he let Christie rattle him and was having a brain freeze at that moment. He tried to compensate for it by going back to that same line. In my opinion, he did well during the remainder of the debate, however, I think this will hurt him on Tuesday.
Amen on Rubio’s assertion on Obama! Sadly the GOPe circular firing squad was in full effect. As if electing another DemWit failure is their goal??? Christie was a jerk as usual, Marco was not as prepared as he should have been (but finished strong), and ABC’s desire to trash all the candidates was the clear (IMHO) motive. But (IMHO again) Rubio (et al) NEEDS TO REPEAT over and over that Obama/Dems KNOW exactly what they’re doing! One glaring contrast is the “moderators”... who walk on eggshells with Bern and Hillary and go full attack dog with GOP (no surprise). So one still wonders why RNC still allows obviously hostile “moderators” to ask most of the questions. GOPe death wish???
Right after the debate Hume on Fox admitted that Rubio had a bad debate and might not recover from it. The panel then started with their praise of Bush.
Rubio knows what he’s doing, what he’s done and who he is....and Christie exposed him on all counts. Let’s see if Christie’s number go up, just because people appreciate him by making known what needed to be known about Christie.
I am aware of Christie’s less than conservative credentials and things that have pissed other off(including me), but I do like the guy and I am glad that this campaign season has brought forth and showcased some good Republican talent. I include walker, Jindal, rick perry(big time) and Carly Fiorina to a less extent.
I’ve been told by politicians I know, that going around and doing retail campaigning...getting to know the people and the real day to day issues that hurt them, and can be really sever,...that it can change the way pols see and feel about the people. Both on the Dem and Republican side.
So at least last night Christie is a star...and I hope we hear and see more of him in some capacity.
