Trump on Cruz feud: 'I don't care about that anymore'
CNN ^ | February 4, 2016 | MJ Lee

The day after accusing Ted Cruz of winning the Iowa caucuses unfairly and asking for a rematch in the state, Donald Trump says he's now over it.

"I'm so much into this, into New Hampshire, that I just — I don't care about that anymore," Trump said in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper in Manchester, just five days out from next Tuesday's primary contest here. "This is the place I'm focused on now."

These comments, made at Theo's, a popular local pizza joint that serves up specialty Italian and Greek dishes, were in stark contrast to a tirade of angry tweets Trump sent out the day before, where he charged that the Texas senator had committed "fraud" in Iowa and called for a "new election."

The controversy started when CNN reported Monday night that Carson would go home to Florida following the Iowa caucuses instead of flying directly to the early voting states New Hampshire and South Carolina. The network added that he planned to stay in the race.

Some Cruz allies shared that news widely on the night of the caucuses, including to Carson supporters, but did not include the part about Carson remaining in the race.

It’s scary.

How could the Trump supporters forget all their values to fawn over this odd guy?

Can you be strongly pro-abortion and then a few years later claim to be pro-life?

No.

And Trump has no problem with Obamacare...he would just name it Trumpcare and run it right.

He would be wheeling and dealing all our rights and values away. He cannot be trusted.

Howard Dean has one classic meltdown.

Trump has daily meltdowns.

Have you seen this?

Enter the Donald, Take Two - 2011
How will the Trump 2012 presidential campaign explain the Trump 2000 presidential campaign?

"We must have universal healthcare," wrote Trump. "I'm a conservative on most issues but a liberal on this one. We should not hear so many stories of families ruined by healthcare expenses."

The goal of health care reform, wrote Trump, should be a system that looks a lot like Canada. "Doctors might be paid less than they are now, as is the case in Canada, but they would be able to treat more patients because of the reduction in their paperwork," he writes.

The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans. There are fewer medical lawsuits, less loss of labor to sickness, and lower costs to companies paying for the medical care of their employees. If the program were in place in Massachusetts in 1999 it would have reduced administrative costs by $2.5 million. We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing.

-snip-

So how has Trump avoided any damaging fallout from his single-payer flirtation? Well, the first answer is that maybe he won't. It's a nice, fat target if he surprises everyone and gets into the race. The second answer is that he's avoided conservative opprobrium because Trump is not quite a conservative, in the sense that conservatives would like to think their politicians are. He's an emissary of screw-the-experts, everything-is-broken populism. He's found an audience with Republicans because all of the voters who believe in this have, maybe temporarily, joined Team Red.

Your take is a typical Trump take.

Lose and call it winning.

So why are his poll numbers dropping?

Of course not, because the current target is Rubio (or will be soon..), and it’s a naked ploy to try to go for the Cruz voters, sorry..not going to be so easy.

Trump is a hell of a lot smarter than people think he is. He’s not a great politician yet but he learns fast.

I believe that Ted Cruz would agree to that if Donald would shut up lying about him.

Ted has tried to keep it on the issues and has not made personal attacks on other candidates.

But I don’t think Trump is psychologically capable of running that kind of campaign.

Trump will viciously attack anyone he thinks is gaining on him and then the next day say, ‘oh, that... I’m over it.’

My friend Frank, Half Italian, Half Peurto Rican, could be counted on to throw his clubs every time!!

But man was he tough. We were in our late teens at a club and a brawl broke out in front of the club outside. He got hit with brass knuckles and still clobbered the kid.

The funniest part is, I was watching the fight through a window, thinking “i have the best seat in the house” :)

Then I see some guy at the bottom of a pile throwing desperate punches and it’s one of my best friends, Enia!!

I came THISCLOSE to sneaking out and going home, lol!

Instead i joined the party. Boy were we outnumbered. Held our own though.

ah, youth

I have tried to find ONE issue he might be consistent on, couldn’t find a thing. Little bits of his LIEberalism leak out from time to time just to give enough of a “tell” on what he is...another Obama clone: narcissist with a bad temper and a messiah complex.

Trump hasn’t pulled anything off. Cruz and Rubio have almost caught him in national polls. Trump will likely win NH, but that may be his last victory. People are getting tired of his act.
