Yes I remember it too...it was a POISON PILL exposing the democrats for wanting new voters and they didn’t really care about legalization. This lie against Cruz doesn’t work because people actually remember him fighting to kill amnesty with the poison pill for democrats.

“This lie against Cruz doesn’t work because people actually remember him fighting to kill amnesty with the poison pill for democrats.”

Cruz’s ‘poison pill’ bs has been proven to be just that...BS and cover your butt nonsense.

CRuz is on video explaining he wants his amendments to pass along with the gang of 8 bill!

[[snip]He was asked at least twice — once by right-leaning journalist Byron York, and once by conservative Princeton professor Robert George — whether his amendment represented a genuine effort to improve the bill, as opposed to a poison pill. In both cases, Cruz swore that it was the former, not the latter:

“In introducing amendments, what I endeavored to do was improve that bill so that it actually fixes the problem,” Cruz told me. “I think an overwhelming majority of Americans in both parties wants to see our broken immigration system fixed, wants to see the problem solved, the border secured, and our remaining a nation that welcomes and celebrates legal immigrants. Given that bipartisan agreement outside of Washington, my objective was not to kill immigration reform but to amend the Gang of Eight bill so that it actually solves the problem rather than making the problem worse.” ...

“The amendment I introduced affected only citizenship; it did not affect the underlying legalization in the Gang of Eight bill.” George followed up, “Would your bill pass the House, or would it be killed because it was proposing ‘amnesty’?” Cruz replied,”I believe that if my amendments were adopted, the bill would pass. My effort in introducing them was to find solution that reflected common ground and fixed the problem.”

Confronted with the incontrovertible evidence of the Senator’s past support for mass legalization (he remains notably cagey on this policy question) and his clear-cut statements that his 2013 amendment was not about torpedoing the legislation, hardcore Cruz partisans have resorted to three lines of argument:(1) Engaging in ad hominem, unresponsive invective — “RINO, establishment shill,” etc.
This is unproductive and unpersuasive, especially since those terms have been badly abused to the point of losing nearly all meaning. (2) Asserting that offering a legislative amendment, exhorting colleagues to adopt it, and calling a proposal an ‘actual solution’ to ‘fix a problem’ does not actually constitute “support.” This tortured parsing would make even the Clintons blush. (3) Contending that Cruz was justified in using guerrilla methods to undermine the bill, including tactical dishonesty. Our friends at The Right Scoop chose door number three yesterday, accusing me of “smearing” Cruz

See the thing is I was THERE. So you can say what you want but I remember EXACTLY what was going on during that time. Hell we probably have stuff on FR where people are supporting Cruz for trying to kill the bill.

But if past positions matter...how about these:

Your list is a collection of crap.

Trump is right on trade, right on immigration, right on the 2nd amendment.....and without those NONE of the rest of it matters. And he is NOT A LAWYER!

I left out Trump’s support for gays in the military and all forms of abortion, both while he was in his mid-50s. He must have been telling the truth about these things too (at the time).

Do you wish to follow Goldman Sachs Money to Cruz campaign?
I have a bucket full of stuff if you are interested.

Trump has always been a businessman all his life. In case you have never run a business, businessmen build relationships anywhere in the world. That is how they grow business and create jobs in the private sector.

And while a career politician thrives on lies, a businessman depends on his reputation in the business community to remain viable & profitable.

Just look at the lies by republican politicians in the 2014 election. They were going to defund Obamacare, solve the illegals problem, decrease federal spending..blah blah blah. We all know they signed on to the Omnibus which funds everything Obama wanted.

I must guess you have never owned a large business. Because you are showing total ignorance about how a privately owned business is run. I spent 23 years working for a privately owned large business, reaching executive level positions through promotions. Our business donated left and right to Chicago and Cook county democrats, even though the owner was a capitalist through and through.

But why do I bother to educate people who have never run a large business.

“28% think Cruz is a Canadian. That is going to stick throughout the campaign.”

No it’s not. There’s plenty of time to educate the clueless, and not that many know much about Cruz yet.

My hubby thought Cruz might be ineligible, because when hubby was in the Army, he and his buddies thought it was unfair that kids born outside of the US couldn’t be President. And hubby is no Trump fan.

Anyone who looks into it with no preconceived notions ought to be able to figure out that Trump’s claim doesn’t hold water, but people who already thought Trump’s claim is true probably won’t check it out. They’ll just think it a bummer that their favored candidate isn’t eligible, and vote for someone else. I think Trump’s done some damage on that front.

Ted is the flip flopper, so get over it.....and his flips are from one day to the next ALL during his campaign and SHORT stint in public office.

Trump has changed his mind over time and will tell you so. Cruz, on the other hand just LIES every time he opens his lawyer mouth (TPA, h1bvisas, birthright citizenship, his loved for Roberts and on and on...it’s what he was trained for!

We run across the few naysayers who go ballistic and do little but call names over their notion that Donald Trump may have ever changed his mind on a given subject during nearly 70 years of life.

My Daddy used to say, “only a fool never changes his mind”.

Whatever you have decided Trump is, no one can say he is a ‘fool’. ANY one of us would trade places with that ‘fool’!

So, Trump changed his mind on abortion...so did Reagan and George HW BUSH....for Bush it was several times! Any one of us who says we think the same way we did when we were younger is, excuse me...a LIAR or a damn fool.

Winston Churchill said:
“If you’re not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you’re not a conservative at forty you have no brain.”

Now, Churchill wasn’t talking about being 20 or 40, but the difference between being young or mature, with EXPERIENCE under your belt.

GHANDI said:

........I am not at all concerned with appearing to be consistent.......
In my search after Truth I have discarded many ideas and learnt many new things........
When anybody finds any inconsistency between any two writings of mine,

if he has still faith in my sanity, he would do well to choose the later of the two on the same subject.

“But after Trump’s meltdown I don’t want him with the nukes. I think he may be going senile.”

The meltdown meme from you Cruz-bots is getting old. You need desperately to find a new one.

As even Rush pointed out today, they said the exact same thing about Reagan. Therefore, I’m surprised to see that Rush did not attack Cruz from hitting Trump from the Left.

Amazing that it didn’t hurt him in NH, just the PPP poll.

Do you mean that PPP poll that all the Trumpsters were hailing a month ago?

I’m no Cruzbot. Look at my posting history. Just recently I’ve started to really think Trump won’t work out. Never love him though either. But I definitely didn’t want any of the others. However, if Trump keeps it up I’m thinking Rubio would be even better than trump—still won’t vote for him though.
