A new national survey just released by Public Policy Polling shows that although Donald Trump is still the national frontrunner, he's lost significant support among the GOP field since coming in at second place in Iowa Monday.
Trump nosedives in @ppppolls national survey:
Trump 25 (-9)
Rubio 21 (+8)
Cruz 21 (+3)https://t.co/pk73CmpSsn— Brett LoGiurato (@BrettLoGiurato) February 4, 2016
According to the survey, Trump has dropped to 25 percent among Republican primary voters, down nine points from December. Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are tied nationally at 21 percent and the rest of the field, with the exception of Dr. Ben Caron with 11 percent, sit in single digits just days before the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary.
The results of Rubio's third place "win" in Iowa Monday are evident in this new survey, showing he had the most to gain by getting a ticket out of the Hawkeye state and into the Granite.
The Public Policy Polling survey could also lend credence to many Rubio supporters' argument that he could be the Republican establishment's best option to take down Trump and Cruz, whose potential nominations have unnerved many in the party's mainstream.
The poll found the most support for Rubio in a theoretical three-man race for the nomination, with 34% picking the Florida senator compared with 33% for Trump and 25% for Cruz. He would also best Trump and Cruz in theoretical head-to-head bouts for the nomination. And his 64% favorability rating among Republican voters nationally trailed only Carson in that measure.
It should be noted that although Trump is losing ground nationally, he's still ahead in local New Hampshire polls by a landslide.
More to come....
It is really sad to watch USA citizen voters, vote to destroy our once great country!!! As for me...I could care less. I am in the “over-the-hill-gang”, and, have had a great ride and free life here in the great USA. Sadly, my children & grand children will not enjoy the life I was blessed with, by our Lord!!! They will know freedom, liberty, opportunity, less and less, as they vote to make themselvs physical & economic slaves of the coming failed economic and political system.
Cruz, Rubio, Bush, Christie, Kasich, Fiorina, Clinton & Sanders....all add up to being nothing more but, lie telling, bought, “Big Brother” adovacates!!! You fools are killing the goose that once laid the golden egg for all Americans!!! Best learn to speak Chinese!!! The end of the USA is in clear sight...when one knows the “empty suits” of those who tell us they will lead us...all them have disappointed us....talked loud and furious....but did absolutely nothing to better and change our nation. Have fun & games fools....while it lasts. You did yourselves in!!!
Me.......Still for Donald J. Trump....the only person that save our once great nation, IMHO!!!
Yeah he really did a lot of damage to himself with that sore loser/Cruz cheated post-Iowa rant. Over something of minimal significance too.
Looks like you went ahead and did it. Got the one about Ted's paisley bathrobe handy? Or losing at poker?
When I was younger and very naive, an unscrupulous Real Estate agent persuaded me to make an offer on a "modular home". The offer was contingent on particular financing which, as it turned out, excluded mobile homes. I went to the home to try to renegotiate and she declined to accompany me but she sent the sellers agent to ambush me.
The poor aged seller was on his last legs with emphysema and his agent got him so worked up with the notion that I was trying to screw him over that he stood up at the table screaming in fury at me until he suddenly passed out cold right there on the table. I thought he was dead.
As soon as his wife confirmed that he was not dead, "he just does that when he gets excited", I got out of there and fired that agent. Over a year later they fired their agent.
Anyway, your comment made me think of that scene.
WOW..... it can happen.
Pay NO attentions to the unprecedented high negatives that Trump generates.
“Rubio is the candidate who has the best chance of beating Hildabeast according to what Iâve read.”
I have heard this crap with both McCain and Romney and look how well that worked. I would never vote for Rubio...ever!
A panicky Trumpophile cherry picking half a dozen bullet points that have virtually no bearing or are just outright specious in order to further an argument that cant be made with the facts.
......Oh, you meant the other guy.
Trump showed himself to be a petulant child post-Iowa. No, thanks.
And the Carson and Rand Paul super PACs are now moving to Cruz.
Maybe it'll come down to a coin toss again. Since they are nearly identical, we win either way!!! /s
Go Cruz!
Exactly, while Trump and Cruz camps eat each other alive.
I’m guilty for focusing too much on Trump myself. However, if course, as a cruzer, I feel like I have to constantly defend Cruz to Trump people who are relentless in attacking us. We need to set it aside and and focus on establishment guy, which is RUBIO
Won’t fly. Keep busting his chops on immigration.
A non-starter. It had no affect on Obama. It will probably get him more votes.
Do you want Rubio?
Dear Savior, the GOPe is gonna nominate Rubio. I truly thought it would be Jebby at the beginning of all of this. I guess so did they.
Thank you very much
The Establishment needs to make Bush an offer he can’t refuse.
