A new national survey just released by Public Policy Polling shows that although Donald Trump is still the national frontrunner, he's lost significant support among the GOP field since coming in at second place in Iowa Monday.
Trump nosedives in @ppppolls national survey:
Trump 25 (-9)
Rubio 21 (+8)
Cruz 21 (+3)https://t.co/pk73CmpSsn— Brett LoGiurato (@BrettLoGiurato) February 4, 2016
According to the survey, Trump has dropped to 25 percent among Republican primary voters, down nine points from December. Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are tied nationally at 21 percent and the rest of the field, with the exception of Dr. Ben Caron with 11 percent, sit in single digits just days before the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary.
The results of Rubio's third place "win" in Iowa Monday are evident in this new survey, showing he had the most to gain by getting a ticket out of the Hawkeye state and into the Granite.
The Public Policy Polling survey could also lend credence to many Rubio supporters' argument that he could be the Republican establishment's best option to take down Trump and Cruz, whose potential nominations have unnerved many in the party's mainstream.
The poll found the most support for Rubio in a theoretical three-man race for the nomination, with 34% picking the Florida senator compared with 33% for Trump and 25% for Cruz. He would also best Trump and Cruz in theoretical head-to-head bouts for the nomination. And his 64% favorability rating among Republican voters nationally trailed only Carson in that measure.
It should be noted that although Trump is losing ground nationally, he's still ahead in local New Hampshire polls by a landslide.
More to come....
Wrong. A Trump win is already factored in. Anything short of a blowout win is a loss. Just like Rubio's loss factors as a win. It's political calculus.
#trumpdecline
Actually an intellectually honest assessment is Rubio climbing. Cruz has a small uptick.
Team Cruz better wake up. The momentum Cruz should have coming out of Iowa is all on Rubio’s side. Cruz’s gains are within the margin of error.
So you consider Cruz GOPe?
Trumps problem with the nomination is not that he’s anti-GOPe, it’s all his historically documented liberal positions.
The GOPe hates Cruz more than they do Trump.
Trump. Keep it up with the personal attacks about things that most grown ups find childish instead of focusing on actual issues that gained you the support you had.
Rubio is the candidate who has the best chance of beating Hildabeast according to what I’ve read.
Are we to believe the rest of the country are as stoopid as the cornholing Iowans?
40 to 50 percent would vote for an ineligible cuban junior senator?
(Off to buy survival supplies *hick*)
And all their hard work will give them what a combined 10% of the vote cast in New Hampshire?
Is he going to trot out that Rubio was gay as a youth crap?
I’ve already had 1 such from a place or people I’ve not heard of.

“Expect Trump to become even more hyperbolic and unhinged in an attempt stem the tide.”
Looks like the Cruz-bots are the ones becoming unhinged. Anyone hear Levin last night?
I am sure that the voters will be reminded Saturday night that Rubio supports amnesty.
Did he not deny that in the debate just last December? He’s getting a little bolder with his views.
The afraid to debate reveal, followed by the sore loser tantrum were a brutal pair of unforced errors by Donaldo. The yacht lists.
Just dang, no insulting tweets from Donnie yet.
In case you did not see - reports take pics of “ZZ Top breaking crowd - estimate crowd at 6000 - Donnie is recreating his own personal version of 1984.

Apparently now the polls are gospel again after being way off in Iowa.
If polls are to be believed, Trump is still way ahead in NH, which if he actually wins should boost him nationally.
Too early to make any definitive statements - the narrative will change dramatically after next week and on to SC.
If Cruz was the answer for everyone who doesn’t lke Trump, then Rubio would be down in the single digits.
The thing is Trump is a one-off. There will be no other attempts to dethrone the GOPe ever again. If a guy like Trump can’t do it then it can’t be done. The Establishment is clawing its way back on top like you said. F em all.
*********************************************************************************
“F em all”? I’m sure that that was a momentary lapse since you strike me as someone as far from being DEFEATIST as you can get. Hopefully we’ll get back to where we were earlier in the campaign when it looked like Trump & Cruz were going to gather the majority of the delegates..with Trump, with near certainty, have most of them. The resulting Trump-Cruz ticket would have been REVOLUTIONARY. If the Trump & Cruz campaigns don’t get back to their earlier detente, the GOPe will win yet again and the American Revolution and the American Republic will fade into the mists of history.
Have you apologized to Mr. Robinson and Freepers here for your childish tirade the other day? What moral standing do you have to talk about a candidate’s “insulting” tweets?
If you were an honest person you would have stayed gone. Even Cruz people are embarassed to have you here befouling the place.
Trump’s recent antics haven’t helped him, either.
He and the rest of the candidates would be best served by knocking off the sniping shit and refocus on that screeching, hairy-legged witch and the socialist anklebiter on the democrat side.
Trump hyperbolic and unhinged, Cruz supporters hyperbolic and unhinged.
One of these is not like the other.
Oy. Cruz is too unfavorable and the establishment will create tge completely malleable and easy-to-present-as-American Rubio.
He would do anything tge moneyed power tells him to do. He has very minimal credentials, has proven he gives his lunch money to the bullies while making people look the other way with his endlesss glib blathering. It was he who emerged in Iowa with trump bashing Cruz and Cruz coming off badly
But Hillary would eat up Rubio and spit him out. He wil never be more than an amateur
Rush Limbaugh, even Rush Limbaugh, says the PPP is liberal.
However, all the pure conservatives who back the pure conservative will jump on this like it is the gospel.
