Ted Cruz apologized to Dr. Ben Carson on Tuesday after the Texas senator's campaign was accused of trying to sabotage his opponent's chances in the Iowa caucuses.
Cruz's campaign blasted out a report Monday night that suggested Carson was going home to Florida instead of campaigning after the Iowa caucuses - something Cruz said Tuesday is "fair game" - but admitted that the campaign should have corrected that report when it became clear Carson wasn't dropping out of the race. He was just going home to get "fresh clothes."

“How many times (has Trump_ filed Bankruptcy 1, 2, 3 times??”
He has never filed for personal bankruptcy. A couple of his companies have and, except for one instance, I believe, he was no longer involved in the companies.
[Give me the false quote from Cruzâs mouth. They said he was stopping campaigning.]
CARSON did want to go to New Hampshire because all of his paid staff quite and joined the CRUZ campaign in mid-January...
If the New Hampshire office of the pro-Ben Carson super PAC 2016 Committee felt a little empty Monday, thatâs because everybody quit and joined Ted Cruzâs campaign.
WMUR reported Monday that all five paid New Hampshire staffers for the pro-Carson super PAC resigned Sunday to become volunteers for Cruz, the Texas senator, who they feel is the most electable conservative.
âWe hold Dr. Carson in the highest regard,â the groupâs spokesperson, Jerry Sickles, told WMUR. âThis is a man we revere, but we think it is important that our party nominate a conservative and get behind a single conservative who can win, and we strongly believe that candidate is Ted Cruz.â
Interesting how the pro-Cruz threads are missing most of the “Christian” and “character” references now. Gee... I wonder what happened.
Why would someone write a op-ed in the WSJ in favor of legislation if they did not intent to vote for passage of said legislation. Please use your head this is not rocket science.
“Gives me the heeby jeebys “
The Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker ad begging for money.
The lie about Trump bulldozing the house of a little old lady.
The creepy mailing exposing neighbors’ voting issues.
The lie about Carson ending his campaign.
The interaction with his mother during his post-caucus speech.
Heebie jeebies, indeed!
:-)
So, Cruz took all Carson’s people.
Some people think that made it right to take Carson’s votes as well.
Sad.
“hey they could always put out an apology afterwards if it wasn’t true so why not go for it.. “
Exactly how Ted handled the situation after his abysmal vote. He had the line stored away, “I believed Mitch McConnell”, in the event he needed to pull it out for rationalization purposes.
Because Carson's camp is who gave CNN the information in the first place.
“Trump ... he’s in a rage. The raging Trump’s head is going to explode before this is over.”
Trump is in a rage? When was that? He’s been very mild mannered since the caucus, and not vocal on the subject at hand. Oh, I get it; just throw another lie out there. It’s what “you guys” do.
[So, Cruz took all Carsonâs people.]
It sounds to me that CARSON’S staff jumped ship on him. That happens in failing campaigns all the time.
Sad? Only for the losing candidate who couldn’t cut it.
“Trump will one day face his maker and atone for his sins.”
And if he has, as some have suggested, made a decision for Christ, and repented, his sins already are forgiven.
‘Donald tried to use eminent domain for his own financial gain but did not succeed.’
You didn’t even read my post. You’re just giving Cruz talking points.
Repeat: individuals CANNOT use eminent domain. Only the state can.
The biggest lie was claiming Trump GOT RICH using eminent domain, WHILE the ad shows a big scary bulldozer trashing the old widow’s house. The widow didn’t lose her house. She kept it and lived in it.
Butter, there is no half truth in this ad. It is sleazy, scummy, fundamentally dishonest, and shameless. I have not seen a more trashy, nasty ad by ANY candidate.
How could a Christian justify this level of deceit? Just answer me that one question? How can a person drape their campaign in the Name of Jesus and lie to this degree about a fellow human being?
“I don’t know for sure but I think he said that his leadership lied to him about that.”
That is true; Cruz did blame leadership. He weasel-worded his excuse by saying that he believed Mitch McConnell. That, in itself, is a serious display of lack of discernment. A conservative would never believe McConnell.
Forgot to reiterate that far from getting rich off eminent domain, Trump has never made one red cent off it. Not one penny.
They are grasping at straws. It’s almost funny.
What a foolish response. In the big picture it matters not who am for, the point of discussion is the duck and weave to claim innocence.
If anything, all the ‘missteps’ by Cruz is enough to turn me away for good. How King got fooled is a mystery, or is it.
Btw, taking a day or two off due to the tragedy that hit his staff, is hardly the same as suspending a campaign. If he had, I’m pretty dang sure there would have been a ton of chatter on here regarding that decision - including all the pointless snarky comments about the man.
“It STILL looks like Carson is out.”
If so, it’s a shame. After having been one of the lower-polled candidates, he did very well in the caucus with double digits. Imagine how well he could have done if some of his votes hadn’t been stolen from him.
The ad doesn’t even show a bulldozer trashing the house. The image of the moving bulldozer is overlaid on a still picture of the house.
The house is no longer there, but not because of Trump. It was sold about 20 years later in 2014 by the poor little old lady who had by then moved into a retirement home.
The poor little old lady never spent a single minute homeless. She was never thrown out on the street, as the ad implies.
What bothers me is how brutally and savagely so many former Palin supporters turned on her after she endorsed Trump. The exact thinking was that she was one hundred percent guilty and Cruz was one hundred percent righteous.
Iow, zero blame for that endorsement rested with Cruz. Not five percent, not one percent; zero.
That kind of black and white thinking is as mindless as it is dangerous. Human beings aren’t perfect. There are legitimate issues with Cruz’ record. A rational person asks, why did Palin campaign so hard for Cruz in TX, but not endorse him now?
And the corollary: why has no conservative senator endorsed Cruz?
Blind acolytes cannot ask such questions. They can only one hundred percent support the all-good individual and one hundred percent trash the all-bad one.
