Hillary won six back-to-back coin tosses against Sanders despite miraculous 1-in-64 odds

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton won six back-to-back coin tosses against opponent Bernie Sander's camp at a half-dozen Iowa precincts where voting results were too close to call Tuesday morning — a mathematical feat that raised eyebrows and a few questions.

The 1-in-64 odds of Clinton successfully winning six coin flips across Polk, Jasper, Cedar and Johnson counties during a deadlocked Iowa caucus prompted confusion and concern from political experts and social media users.

"It is curious," said Dr. David Bridsell, Dean of the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College. "You don't want the awarding of delegates to come down to heads or tails."

"It's nice to know that America is a developed nation and we decid our next President with a coin toss," Tweeted Nick Zaxowski, echoing the sentiments of many others on social media.

In Des Moines, a coin landed tails up at the Weeks Middle School gymnasium following a split.

"That's how it works," one voter sporting Sanders stickers said, referring to the rules set forth by the Iowa Democratic Party, which allows a coin toss in the case of a tie. "It was very, very close. Remember this is a caucus."

“Odds: 1 in 16 (15 to 1)”

Probably, but so far not so good. We had it all down and out
of four of us flipping we figured we flipped about 100 times
each, we were even flopping one at a time to see if we could do it in sequence. After four hours some one did it, 6 in
a row. 4, 3 in a rows, 1 four in a row and one 6 in a row.
Conclusion, the one 5 in a row we got was in the 6 out of a
conservative estimate of 400 flips.

So I figure the odds to be 1 in 400.

2^6 = 64 x 6.25 = 400

“1 in 64 isn’t a miracle, it’s clustering.”

Misuse of the science. It can only be clustering if every flip was with the same coin in sequence as you suggested the 1K coin test.

“Odds aren’t really cumulative”

The overall chance/odds are cumulative when compared against differing coins at different times. However, each toss separately is 50/50.

I’m not attacking her “looks” per se. What I meant was that she was glowering at the camera and the audience and screaming at them. He gaze was so cold that it gave me chills. I really questioned her sanity at that moment.

We already know enough about her lack of character. It hardly seserves any more words.

No, it’s still clustering. Clustering is random results bucking the statistical expectations. You expect somebody predicting coin tosses (including of multiple coins) to get the right answer 50% of the time. By getting it right 6 times in a row they bucked statistical expectations, but small sample sizes have a tend to buck statistical expectations, and some people read too much into it:

I wonder if the witch would buy me a lotto ticket.

She wants the White House, we want her in prison, how about a compromise, we turn the White House into a prison and inter her there for life! Solitary confinement in the Oval Office. Sure, we’d have to find a new place for Presidents to live, but I’m sure they’d never get the smell out after Obama anyway. Win/win.
