Trump vows to pay legal fees of supporters who 'knock the crap' out of tomato-throwers.

Donald Trump got word from his security detail in Cedar Rapids on Monday that there could be someone in the audience with tomatoes -- so Trump reportedly decided to go ahead and take precautions.

"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them," Trump urged his supporters. Were anyone to feel concern about being prosecuted for assault in such a scenario, Trump reassured that, "I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees."

You’re the one giving free legal advice on assault when you can’t spell the term. I pointed it out, not as a spelling Nazi, but to make clear that you probably have no background in law, for if you did you’d almost certainly not make that mistake.

If you’re a great lawyer, but just happen to be a lousy speller, I apologize. If you have no legal background, I don’t, and my initial observation stands.

What is wrong with stopping someone from committing an assault? If a person is throwing an object to harm another person, there is nothing wrong with stopping it. Or if someone wants to defend themselves with a gun they need to be shot first before they can respond.

If you're God or a mind-reader....nothing. But acting pre-emptively on what it 'looks like' somebody is going to do is illegal. At least...at the moment. What Trump is advocating here is union thug tactics. You know....like Obama's tactics (if they bring a knife, bring a gun). Not presidential material, IMO.

Did you notice that a couple other FReepers backed up my statement?

In most places, a person can use force to prevent/interrupt a violent crime. That is what Trump is talking about.

Here is an analogy: if you see your wife/sister/daughter being raped, you can legally use force to stop that rape. Now do you get it?
