In an interview this morning on This Week, Donald Trump cited his desire to "help people" as the reason he favors government-funded universal health coverage. Unlike Ted Cruz, Trump said, "I have a heart."
"If somebody has no money and they're lying in the middle of the street and they're dying, I'm going to take care of that person," Trump said.

I will play exactly as stupid as I choose to, o rancorous one. It’s fairly obvious that you’re not going to change your mind, and you’re not going to change my mind. So I might as well have some fun with the angry, angry rudeboy.
‘Unlike Ted Cruz, Trump said, ‘I have a heart.’
Must break my silence. Noticed this just after my vow.
Cheap shot, Trump. Cruz is a patriot. He DOES care about peoples’ health.
CHEAP SHOT!
And using liberal terms, I don’t care if this is a word game or whatever — cheap. Didn’t need to ‘game it’ this way.
Typical liberal.
.
They are incapable of understanding.
They have imbued Trump with perfect Prescience.
What could go wrong?
“That is a good observation. I did not see that, but did he actually say âIâll enact universal health coverageâ? If he did not...”
i watched this morning. NRO is lying. trump did not say that. nothing even close to that, either.
So, are you in favor of conservatives setting up the same strawmen as liberals?
Sure sounds like it.
When Trump bows out, will John Kasich be your guy?
‘NRO are fuching liars; Trump DID NOT say ‘I’ll Enact Universal Health Coverage’
He didn’t? I sure as heck hope not!
He’s got the consistent record.
Is he perfect? No.
Is he better than Trump?
Oh HELL YES.
.
Its all politics Arthur.
The concepts of right and wrong are prohibited.
“How do you do what he says he will do without single payer?”
lot of ways. subsidize more medicaid, subsidize charity hospitals, subsidize some insurance, etc.. all of course cost taxpayer money, but none are “single-payer”.
What about ‘Unlike Cruz I have a heart.’
Did he say that?
That’s pretty cheap too. I could live with it, but a cheap shot! Below-the-belt liberalesque leftist-style smear!
You'll find out that FDR not only was a Socialist, he considered himself one (though he may have never used the words.) And that he intended to "meet the Soviets in the middle" someday.
You don’t seem to understand the dynamic any more.
I made my point, and everything I claimed is a matter of public record for those who care to research.
Both of you rejected my point for reasons that may or may not be logical. I don’t know your minds, so I’m not gonna judge.
Since there’s no point to arguing further because it all involves interpretation of the facts instead of the facts themselves. And emotion. You’ve made up your mind and I’ve made up my mind. So I’ve given up on caring and am just going to try to have fun with you two angry, angry grumpypants.
Socialism is a step on the wrong direction, no matter who is promoting or saying it.
You need to learn to read.
I said that the President does not enact anything the Congress does. Trump is not going to repeal Obamacare or replace it. The Congress will and he signs the legislation.
Go rant somewhere else maybe with Libbylu. :-)
How many people do you think recognize your French tagline as anything other than French?
French, as in France, as in not American. Idiot.
Can’t find anyone to spell that out for you in American-English?
I know it bothers you terribly so let me inform you again. I am an American who will be voting for Ted Cruz.
Nope. Wouldn't be. And that is what you are not understanding about the difference between Trump supporters and everyone else.
>>The worst part is that we would lose even if he win, at least on a bunch of issues that used to mean something to conservatives.<<
Understood.
I do not question a single one of those conservative principles, especially lower taxes, smaller government and the Constitution as sacred. I actually entered this election cycle leaning towards Rand Paul.
But Trump has given power to a new movement. That’s right. HE HAS GIVEN POWER. That is what great leaders sometimes do. Think about Abraham Lincoln. (STOP, Trolls, I’m not comparing Trump to Lincoln, just using it as an illustration of a process.) LINCOLN DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF MAKING A SMALLER GOVERNMENT, and because of his leadership, the United States of America EXISTS TODAY.
I respectfully submit to you that NOW is another time when STRONG AMERICA is more important than small government.
The conservative principles of small government and liberty are not going to go away. I just believe that now is a time for national strength.
Can you really not connect those dots?
And if NRO actually slandered Trump on this — that’s even worse!
Those creeps, I wouldn’t put it past them the way they turned Thomas Sowell into a contorted intellectual pretzel.
