In an interview this morning on This Week, Donald Trump cited his desire to "help people" as the reason he favors government-funded universal health coverage. Unlike Ted Cruz, Trump said, "I have a heart."
"If somebody has no money and they're lying in the middle of the street and they're dying, I'm going to take care of that person," Trump said.

Trump will be just as bad as Bushes, but no worse....and better than Clintburn.
So then you DO agree with me that the vote on cloture was the one that mattered and the rest was just theater?
So you are in favor of letting people die in the streets?
Then I would suggest that you do some research like I am. Burns’ book is probably the best and I did a lot of research trying to find the best bio as I had not really read one.
FDR certainly did not consider himself a Socialist. But as I say do your own research.
She was honest enough to admit that her problem was with disliking math, and not with being incapable of it. I doubt you will get that kind of self-reflection from many Trump people.
I have long said that by the time the fence is built it will be to keep us in.
Our current tax laws are a “Wall” to keep us in.
Read my previous posts. Your tedious questions have already been answered.
Please see my #306. Don’t play stupid.
Great dodge, tremendous excuse for denial.
I have laid out why things Trump has said are wrong, and even the hated EPA that The Donald has said he'll keep isn't enough to wake people up.
Reason cannot prevail against the level of fervor usually reserved for cults.
He called me a f@ggot, because he wasn't able to actually refute my argument.
[My wife and kids think you're hilarious, by the way. Which makes you a typical Trumpbot]
How is ‘competition across state lines’ single-payer?
I know you hate Trump with a hot, hot hate, but his proposal includes what we on FR have generally been in favor of ever since 2009.
It’s a step in the right direction from Obamacare. It’s not EVERYTHING you want, but you’re fighting as if Trump’s plan is sending jack-booted thugs around. When what he has proposed is an imperfect, but better idea than Obamacare.
If it was Cruz saying so, you’d be all in favor of it.
Why are you so opposed to a step in the right direction?
;-) You have a nice weekend, Joe.
I seem to recall that argument. Hang on, it's coming to me . . . .
Oh yeah, Obamacare.
.
Dougie Louser.
FDR either blatatantly ignored the federal governments constitutionally limited powers, or did not understand those limited powers.
Regarding domestic policy, are you aware that one of the very few powers that the Founding States had actually delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to regulate an aspect of INTRAstate commerce is to decide policy for the US Mail Service (1.8.7)?
In other words, you can bet that most other federal government services, Social Security, welfare, etc., are unconstitutional and end up winning most of your bets.
Unless you're a cat, it's wrong to play with the things you're tearing to pieces...
‘If somebody has no money and they’re lying in the middle of the street and they’re dying, I’m going to take care of that person,’ Trump said.
NRO are fuching liars; Trump DID NOT say “Iâll Enact Universal Health Coverage”
But I suppose the “TRUE keepers of the TRUE conservative principles” are perfectly happy to leave people dying in the streets; after all, it’s really not that difficult to step over the dying is it, it’s not like they’re gonna grab you are anything.
