In an interview this morning on This Week, Donald Trump cited his desire to "help people" as the reason he favors government-funded universal health coverage. Unlike Ted Cruz, Trump said, "I have a heart."
"If somebody has no money and they're lying in the middle of the street and they're dying, I'm going to take care of that person," Trump said.

His positions are well documented and his message is very consistent. If you want a quick reference go to his website and read his tax plan - which is light-years better than Cruz’s plan (Cruz has a hidden VAT tax). Fact is, Cruz has been riding in Trump’s wake on the main issues of open borders, Muslim refugee rejection and so forth. So, I’m surprised at this ‘comic-book’ reference. It appears you are ignoring Trump’s solutions or are ignorant of them.
>>From this moment forward you are dead to me. You may as well not exist and I will never acknowledge your presence again, except to repost this comment to remind everyone present what a loser you are.<<
They don’t seem to mind it that the Canadian strongly supported Obama’s Fast-track Trade authority for the new EVIL GLOBALIST TPP agreement so strongly supported by his secret donors: Citigroup and Goldman Sachs.
That is NOT A CONSERVATIVE ISSUE, apparently because Reagan didn’t say it back in 1980, and the Framers forgot to mention it in 1789.
Oh . . . maybe it was another SUPER SUBTLE POISON PILL ???
“We strongly urge our colleagues in Congress to vote for trade-promotion authority,” Cruz stated, along with co-author Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on April 21.
You can't be turned away from any hospital. They have to treat you...and they get to eat the costs. Which they pass along by increasing the charges to paying customers. That's your solution?
One thing we can all agree on Obamacare has to go. Then figure out what to do from there.
Agreed. But everyone but Ted Cruz talks about repealing and replacing. Repeal and be done with it. Nothing that the government could come up with would do anything but make it worse.
'When I use a word,' Humpty [Trumpty] Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean--neither more nor less.'
"Conservatives," supporting a single payer plan, Medicare and Medicaid, and justifying it with various and sundry non-arguments which all really boil down to: "The Donald® wants it. Therefore it is now good, and has always been good forever and ever amen."
Yes, we are indeed Through the Looking Glass.
“You guys helped that along more than anything else to really putting me in a position of disliking this guy. And I stared out on the Cruz side last year.”
ROTFLMAO .. NOW I’VE HEARD IT ALL ..... IT’S MY FAULT .. REALLY ..???????
THERE’S JUST NO ACCOUNT’N FOR STUPIDITY.
“Hmmmmm ..?? How much are you getting PAID to tell lies about Cruz ..????”
So this is like you saying something kooky, and I’m supposed to play along? That if you arent a sycophant for Ted....you must be getting “paid”?
“You must be getting paid .. because all you do is say the same things over and over ...... BORING.”
Ok.... This is that classic Cruz supporter meltdown/tirade that ends up getting so many of you kicked off this site because you all have such poor emotional control.
It’s cute.
Absolutely agree with this, and your points about how people were already getting emergency care irrespective of funding. The left used the problems with health care as an excuse to totally alter it, based on their desire for control and the extreme ideological views of a significant percentage of their coalition. They will absolutely try to mischaracterize any attempts to get rid of Obamacare as attempts to let those without insurance die. They are extreme, and you are spot on about needing to state the obvious in order to preemptively clarify against intentional mischaracterizations.

The future of our Republic has come to this: a Canadian, or a carnival barker. And the supporters of both will make certain Bernie is elected. We’re screwed.
I think you might be surprised who actually owns those county hospitals. Ours is owned privately and the county passes indigent care costs to the property owners. In addition, the paying customers pay inflated costs at the hospital to help offset the indigent care costs.
“So what?
He made it absolutely clear this is NOT SINGLE PAYER.
Very lame.”
It sounds like something a democrat socialist would say, especially when you realize the person in the example would
be taken care of now and before obamacare. Again Trump in the past has favored “single payer” and I believe his “deal making” with Pelosi, Schumer, Ryan and MCconnell would bring him back to it. “Deal Making” involves compromise based on Trump’s past endorsements, contributions, and even recent statements I doubt his deals will favor either Conservatism or The Constitution.
You said...
“Heâll be reaching his special age in a few years, and weâll see if he volunteers to gracefully check out.”
That die at 75 rule is for us little people. Not him
Only a liberal Demonicrat would ever have given "SOCIALIZED MEDICINE" such a dumb moniker!!
It's really "ALL PAYER" when those earning enough to pay Income Tax are forced to pay for it!!!
Somebody, or several sombodies are terribly oblivious to the obvious!!!
Why does they're need to be anyone "else"? My point was that millions of people without private health care coverage are not covered by Medicaid, and that's true.
There is also the issue of Medicaid co-pay requirements by state that some people also cannot afford.
So my point that Trump advocates an entitlement that exceeds current law is completely true.
I STILL DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT CRUZ.
AND .. I DON’T MELT DOWN .. !!!
“ROTFLMAO .. NOW IâVE HEARD IT ALL ..... ITâS MY FAULT .. REALLY ..???????
THEREâS JUST NO ACCOUNTâN FOR STUPIDITY.”
First turn off the caps-lock, because yelling doesn’t make up for you lack of ability to follow a statement.
#2 No, not ((you))) all by your lonesome, but you supporters of Cruz, since last Nov) that have engaged in nothing sort of a completely mental breakdown where your behavior (demonstrated clearly by yourself) that have made me completely turned-off to any idea of ever voting for this person. You people have demonstrated a level of arrogance, entitlement, snobbery, and tone-deafness, that has been mirrored by Cruz and his campaign as well as fan bloggers, that is like a cheap knock-off of the stuff the left does.
I dont consider many of you to be mentally stable. Certainly a great deal of you are far and away poor ambassadors for your side as evident by the number of people JimRob has had to ban from this site.
There you go again, lying about Cruz.
I still don’t care what you people think.
Because .. you don’t discuss .. you just attack .. that’s a sure sign that you are being paid by somebody to continue to say all the same thing .. over and over and over.
You are boring too.
It’s already subsidized, and it’s not going away, so Trump is just trying to make it more efficient.
