In an interview this morning on This Week, Donald Trump cited his desire to "help people" as the reason he favors government-funded universal health coverage. Unlike Ted Cruz, Trump said, "I have a heart."
"If somebody has no money and they're lying in the middle of the street and they're dying, I'm going to take care of that person," Trump said.

Boy y’all Trumpettes are working hard making excuses for the guy.
He MEANS Single Payer. This is not the first time he has supported it.
Polished flim-flam men have that ability.
Where and when were people dying in the streets? Trump is creating a straw man to knock down. He’s such a good liberal using liberal tactics.
Yeah it’s disappointing. US history will ultimately prove the failure of universal suffrage.
But if Obamacare funds were put into Medicare, it would help a great deal.
I say revert back to the way irt has always been, and put the “unfortunate” ones on Medicare advantage. It would be better care, and far cheaper than Obamacare.
He's running to have more health insurance choices for the buyers by getting rid of existing law that has created monopolies.
But don’t worry - you’ll get your wall. It’s just that living inside it will be a living hell. We’ll be stuck inside, desperate to get out.
Your definition is incorrect. Private insurance will have much more competition. That will also be added into the public sector.
Right, just what we need - a fourth major entitlement program when the three we have already are on the road to the abyss.
And here I was thinking this was a gathering place for conservatives.
“So what? He made it absolutely clear this is NOT SINGLE PAYER. Very lame.”
Even when he espouses liberal ideas his supports shout “so what.”
It’s amazing actually.
But still government funded to one extent or another.
Just what we need...some piker from a socialist country trolling our election.Your posts to me are getting more and more disturbed.
You have ZERO comprehension of my comment.
we will do something but you have to vote for it before we tell you what’s in it.
His friend Nancy said something to that effect yes ?
I have a friend in the Trump campaign. Like kind of high up. And although our very few exchanges recently have cordial, I’m not sure I trust some of the stuff he tells me. However, he did say Trump’s internal polling tells them that Cruz/Trump are so tight neck and neck in Iowa that it’s literally a dead heat.
This was like Monday of last week, so if things changed since then, with the debate debacle etc, I have no idea....however, I do think my friend is telling the truth on this one because it explains why Trump and team have been so laser focused on Cruz. Trump gets nasty when he feels threatened.
My friend also said it’s quiet common knowledge in the Trump camp that Rubio is the best option for VP. I don’t know how true that is, but it certainly makes sense he’d go with him. Hispanic, half establishment half conservative and he’s from Florida.
It’s interesting in the very least.
Trump: Unlike Cruz, ‘I Have a Heart,’ I’ll Enact Universal Health Coverage
The headline starts with
Trump: (This implies that this is a quote)
Unlike Cruz (outside of the quotes)
‘I have a heart’ (the words that the man actually said)
Iâll Enact Universal Health Coverage (Outside of quotes. He didn’t say that)
In the article, they do quote him, then go on to project imaginary meaning into what he actually said.
This is how the lying media rolls. They do it to everyone and it’s sad how many ‘conservatives’ love it when they can use the same dishonest tactics to their advantage.

You’re dealing with them in good faith, D1- believing that they actually think what they say. They don’t. It’s a talking point.
Everything Trump says is ‘’wrong’’ because they want a different candidate.
It will be twisted & embellished & mis-portrayed until it IS wrong. Only their chosen candidate can be ‘’right’’. Even if he is actually wrong.
This is a giganting myth - Medicaid does not provide care for everyone who cannot afford health care. If that were the case, there wouldn't be tens of millions of people without either insurance or Medicaid.
Whatever form it takes - single payer or otherwise - Trump's proposal amount to a massive expansion of the entitlement state.
