It's not often that I give Democrats a pat on the back on policy, especially Second Amendment issues, but Gov. Terry McAuliffe certainly deserves a nod with his announcement that he will restore concealed carry reciprocity agreements with 25 states. These agreements were expected to be revoked on February 1 in accordance with Attorney General Mark Herringâs unilateral action on this issue prior to the Christmas holiday. Dang. I meant MATT, not Mike. DOH! It’s early and it’s snowing.
It’s a good deal for McAwful. He was on the losing side of an eventual veto override on the universal reciprocity bill. With the deal, he gets something that isn”t all that important to our side that he can use to save face.
As for Herring, a classic example of “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

McAuliffe may have his sites on higher office...
scary thought

As a former Marine, visiting the Marine Corps Museum is on my bucket list. Now I can put it back on the list of museums I want to visit.
Governor McAuliffe will also extend the effective date for the planned implementation of the revocation of reciprocity agreements with other states to March 1st.
What’s this?????

Following the recent snow, in praising the work of VDOT snow removal crews, McAuliffe stated that he once drove a snow plow. My immediate thought was McAuliffe had missed his true calling.
My deepest respects to snow plow drivers, even the one that hit my street with a lick and not much promise.
