It's not often that I give Democrats a pat on the back on policy, especially Second Amendment issues, but Gov. Terry McAuliffe certainly deserves a nod with his announcement that he will restore concealed carry reciprocity agreements with 25 states. These agreements were expected to be revoked on February 1 in accordance with Attorney General Mark Herring’s unilateral action on this issue prior to the Christmas holiday. Sorry Mike. Tmac will get no pat on the back from most of us on ANY issue. Musta been a rock and hard place situation for him to cave on this so no credit due. But good for the VA legislators for pushing this one.

It’s a good deal for McAwful. He was on the losing side of an eventual veto override on the universal reciprocity bill. With the deal, he gets something that isn”t all that important to our side that he can use to save face.

As for Herring, a classic example of “play stupid games, win stupid prizes.”

Well this sucks. Looks like the legislature had the votes to override McAwfuls veto, so McAwful went for whatever he could get. Now a judge can remove your right to possess a firearm for two years at a time based on a simple protective order.

Exactly. If you pick up a viper and it doesn’t bite - don’t kiss it.

McAuliffe got beyond his stated role in being gov for Virginia, which is to deliver the state for Hillary in 2016, period. No fancy moves that might upset the apple cart....

This is good. Now I won’t have to add three extra hours to my Florida trip to drive around Virginia.

As a former Marine, visiting the Marine Corps Museum is on my bucket list. Now I can put it back on the list of museums I want to visit.

Governor McAuliffe will also extend the effective date for the planned implementation of the revocation of reciprocity agreements with other states to March 1st.

What’s this?????

McAuliffe may have his sites on higher office...

Following the recent snow, in praising the work of VDOT snow removal crews, McAuliffe stated that he once drove a snow plow. My immediate thought was McAuliffe had missed his true calling.
My deepest respects to snow plow drivers, even the one that hit my street with a lick and not much promise.
