Christians Cringe at Donald Trump’s Sexy Past
Daily Beast ^ | 1/26/2016 | Betsy Woodruff

Posted on 01/29/2016 10:46:36 PM PST by Zhang Fei

Evangelical Christians, at the moment, are totally enamored with a candidate who has profited off strip clubs, cheated on his wife, and appeared on the cover of the nation's pre-eminent porn magazine.

And to top it off, Jerry Falwell Jr.-the heir of the Moral Majority mantle-just endorsed him.

(snip)

So far, Trump's top foes have largely steered clear of attacking him based on his sexcapades and scandals. Even while he and Rubio lob birther-esque attacks at Ted Cruz for being born in Canada, Trump has evaded any hard-hitting criticism for his multiple marriages, casino ownership, and appearance on the cover of Playboy magazine.

A series of tweets from Sen. Ben Sasse, a freshman Republican from Nebraska, may suggest that the days of giving Trump a pass over his New York-values personal life are over.

"You brag abt many affairs w/ married women," the senator tweeted on Jan. 24, addressing Trump. "Have you repented? To harmed children & spouses? Do you think it matters?"

In The Art of the Deal, Trump boasted about bedding other men's wives.

"If I told the real stories of my experiences with women, often seemingly very happily married and important women, this book would be a guaranteed best-seller," he wrote.

Yes, Swede Girl! Trump is indeed an Alpha Male! That does not excuse all naughtiness, but as far at that goes, Melania is apparently very happy as a wife, both ex-wives are also happy and secure, Ivana even endorsed Trump, and the children are as happy, well-adjusted and successful as any rich kids we have ever seen. All that considered, I say we dare not pass judgments.

Not even close my FRiend, and you know it.

Reagan made a mistake, as Governor, with respect to the Pro-Abortion legislation that was purposefully mis-used by the Democrats to cover most abortions when all Reagan understood it to be was for the Life of the Mother.

From that point on, till almost 20 years into the future when he ran for President he was solidly Pro-Life.

He did not waver in his other conservative principles either.

Trump is Still holding onto his Pro-Abortion positions while lying about being Pro-Life.

Trump's so-called conservative conversion is only half-baked and only started once he started considering running for President. It's called being a Campaign Conservative. It has no value because he is simply manipulating you by telling you what you want to hear, like his "Art of the Deal".

He still supports Abortion, he refuses to fight against Gay Marriage, he still supports KELO, he still supports Touch-Back Amnesty, and he still supports a government provided socialistic Single-Payer Healthcare system.

Stop trying to falsely wrap a conservative faker like Trump in a Reagan Mantle. It smells like a dead fish.

So acting in the role of a staff lawyer for GWB he wrote up a policy paper outlining GWB’s positions that have always been GWB’s positions.

And somehow, in your mind, this has morphed into Ted Cruz’s position?

You really are grasping at straws here D1.

You really don’t understand what Lawyers do, right?

And to prove this, all you need to do is read the very first paragraph:
This country is a land built by immigrants, and that, as Governor of a border state, I have seen first-hand the richness and great benefits immigrants have brought America.

He was the political adviser to then Candidate George W. Bush, on the issue of immigration policy.

So one, he was either helping him form his policies, or two he was simply willing to go along to get along.

If I need to spell it out for you, that’s a RINO.

It doesn’t bother you a bit that these two were talking up policies that denied State’s Rights.

LOL

Just a note, in the interest of TOTAL DISCLOSURE ...

Senator Ben Sasse has two twitter accounts - One for Ben Sasse, and one for Senator Ben Sasse.

All of Sasse’s tweets to Donald Trump have been sent via Ben’s non-government account ... I wonder why Senator Sasse chose to affect his Twitter questions/attack on Mr. Trump by way of his non-gov account?

Funny too, that Senator Sasse asks Mr. Trump all these questions about his VIEWS on the Constitution, in juxtaposition to the DEEDS worked against the same by Obama, when the fact is that Senator Sasse has not lifted a finger to STOP Obama unconstitutional ACTIONS ...

Senator Sasse has not once advocated for the IMPEACHMENT of Obama, when clearly the “President” has violated his oath of office in not faithfully upholding and executing the laws of the United States, has committed willful acts of TREASON by giving aid and comfort to its enemies, and has regularly demonstrated contempt for both the Constitution and the American people by his manifest high crimes and misdemeanors?

Funny that Senator Ben Sasse has let all these ACTIONS go by the wayside with nothing more than his endless speechifying before typically an empty Senate chamber.

Like Senator Cruz, Senator Sasse is a “Hey, look at me - I’m a better conservative than you!” hypocrite.

Both toil and rail over Obama’s abuses of power, but neither man actually take up a real sword to cut Obama’s legs out from under him. I find that very telling about their real agenda.

The fact that my Senator, Ben Sasse, is now heading to Iowa to badmouth Trump - the GOP front runner - tells me all I ever suspected of the man to be true.

Wisely, the senior senator from Nebraska - Deb Fischer - has kept her peace on who she shall support.

Like Cruz, Sasse has delusions of climbing the political ladder, by constantly exclaiming - to all who can bare to listen for more than 5 minutes without gagging - that he is “more conservative than any other man on Earth!”

Ben Sasse has served in the Senate but two years - and yet, like Cruz, he already believes himself a member of the Holy Trinity.

I am not looking for a preacher nor a Saint, I am looking for someone with the know how to get our economy on the plus side, growing our economy and creating JOBS!

A preacher would be less likely to have the guts to close the border and care bout national security, so i want someone who DOES care.

There are a lot of other things like so called free trade that needs to be renegotiated and not continue to drain us of moneyn we do not hve. What politician or preacher is capable of standing up to china, or Japan,or Korea which is flooding us with KIAs while our troops are over there protecting them for nothing, no return. Or even Europe our allies, where do they get off strengthening china after all we’ve done for them? I want a tough guy, one who can bring home the bacon for America. I want Trump and I don’t care about his bedroom habits or how he combs his hair. He can get the job done. That’s all that matters.

You’re not acting very astute right now.

This is a policy statement being written so Bush could study it and make that exact statement to the press.

It was being drafted as Bush’s policy, but it wasn’t necessarily Bush’s policy.

This could have been his policy adviser’s advice.

Why did Ted toss his name on every page? He wanted Bush to remember who came up with the policy advice.

You still don't understand what being a Lawyer is all about, do you?

You simply want to assume because Ted wrote this up for Bush that he agreed with it because it helps you to ignore the failings of Trump, even on this same issue.

You don't know if Ted held these positions. You don't know if, as an advisor, Ted argued against these positions. All you know is he wrote up a position paper that REFLECTED GWB's positions on the issues.

But the possibility of Ted taking these positions is enough for you.

Like most charges by Trump Fan-bois, it is lacking in proof and attempt dots that just don't exist to come to a conclusion that is nothing more than a jaded opinion by a completely biased supporter of another candidate.

Trump knew this so he went and hid, like a coward!

Hahahahahahahahaaaaaa! I'm not sure, but I believe that when you stand in front of a crowd of appreciative Vets, on THREE Networks, that isn't exactly "hiding".

But, I guess if one lives in a dream world, it may happen!

Great! And when you fools hand the country over to Hillary Clinton (provided she is not indicted and convicted for TREASON) or to madman communist Bernie Sanders (provided he does not first die of a stroke) or even to Bloomberg (who will make Obama’s constitution trampling look like a pic-nick) ...

And the country is made a desolate financial and cultural wasteland ...

I’ll remember to congratulate you on you wonderful insights into the political and moral shortcomings of our candidates ...

BTW, despite your wet dreams, Senator Cruz has not a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the presidency.

Look, if you want to think that Ted was just taking dictation and typing this all up for Bush, go ahead.

He wasn’t Susie Que secretary.

His title was Policy Adviser to Presidential Candidate George W. Bush, on immigration matters.

You certainly can’t accept the situation can you.

It’s your take that Ted with his top level Constitutional Law degree, was simply Bush’s secretary.

LOL

since when is the truth a hit piece?

not gonna change my vote and will affect less than they think.

but a hit piece has lots of “alleged” in it.

these are facts.

it just wont matter because he will be going against someone whose husband is a rapist. that’s a royal flush compared to cheating, which is a pair of jacks.

Why did Ted toss his name on every page? He wanted Bush to remember who came up with the policy advice.

This is the problem with so many of the outrageous and unsupportable accusations by Trump Fan-bois.

You jump from small facts that prove nothing, and arrive at a conclusion that cannot be supported by your premises.

Have you ever used Word?

Have you ever used the Header/Footer functionality within Word where whatever you put in the Footer shows up on every page?

Could it be that this was the defined format for writing up policy papers for your boss in the Whitehouse.

This is a policy statement being written so Bush could study it and make that exact statement to the press.

It was being drafted as Bush’s policy, but it wasn’t necessarily Bush’s policy.

You don't know that. It is an unprovable assumption.

But because it automatically lowers Ted in your eyes and others, your willing to make that unsupportable leap probably because your candidate is so weak in so many areas.
