The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

That settles it - Now I KNOW w/o a shadow of doubt that this CANADAdate is no different than any other political weasel.
If ever I was sent such a notice - I would be COMPELLED to vote AGAINST the individual who was responsible for sending it to me.
Like I keep saying, this jerk is educated beyond his intelligence. He is a patronizing prick in plain English - and this proves it in spades.
And there is a BIG difference between a spontaneous exuberant scream, and a deliberate mailing that demeans and insults potential voters.
I agree, and that's why this stunt will be more quickly fatal for the Cruz campaign than was the Howard Dean scream for his.
I don’t care whether I would have received it or not. I would resent it if I received it, and I cannot imagine an apathetic non-voter not resenting it.
It was idiotic of Cruz to allow it.
So I gave him $50 and told him to get the rest from the other guy.
Even Red State is condemning it, and those freaks are so pro-Cruz that it's deranged their minds. That means you suffer a bigger disability than they do.
Cruz has a massive campaign with plans to fix so many problems in our country
Cruz is a loser and member of the Free Trade cult. Cruz will sell us out just like he sold us out over the TPA vote. Cruz's ultimate loyalites are with the chamber of commerce and the people who bankroll his super pacs and campaign.
I wonder how many people will get those, see the VOTER VIOLATION at the top and think they'll be ticketed for not voting.
That's really not all that impossible considering that there are some really stupid people out there.
Ted’s Super Pac hired The Lukens Company & The Monaco Group (700K) for direct mail and Lukens Co is darn proud of their gorilla tactics...have not yet 100% proved that this is their piece, I am only about 98%, given date and cost.
You will love the last link to Controversial McConnell mailer wins campaign awards. “The mail piece, produced by the Lukens Company, also won for “best direct mail piece for Republican statewide candidate,” “best mail piece for a bare-knuckled street fight
victory,” “toughest direct mail piece” and “most daring and successful tactic.”
“In all, we won 6 Reed Awards, including: Best Overall Direct Mail Piece of 2014, Most Daring & Successful Tactic, Best Mail Piece for Republican Statewide Candidate, Toughest Direct Mail Piece, and Best Mail Piece for a Bare-Knuckled Street Fight Victory â which just might be our favorite category.”

Your out of your mind, if you think this sort of tactic is justifiable!
I guarantee that you CANNOT obtain voter records w/o validating a very good reason, and getting it notarized by the County Clerk. That office is where such records are typically kept - I know this for reason of being the Republican chairman of my county! You CANNOT legally obtain voter records for this purpose!
As suspected earlier, the direct mail pieces were paid for by the Keep the Promise I PAC, Robert Mercer.
What year was the Alaska experiment? Who were the candidates, and can you provide a link about this?
Your linked items may have won awards for local action, but even if they worked locally in a short time frame by the time the Twitterverse and the MSM, and other Republican candidates get done with this over the next 9 months, Cruz will either be toast or charcoal.
WHAT KIND OF NONSENSE ARE YOU BABBLING ABOUT?
Good thing for Cruz this was “tightly targeted” and not a broadside at the public. Whatever “tightly targeted” means.
Anybody could print that address
The return address in the picture in the OP is not a PAC.
