The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.
The text reads:
"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".
In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

I have always been surprised at the number of people I know who aren’t registered to vote and never plan to vote.
You sure you want to vote for this guy?
This is absolutely crazy! What was Cruz thinking???!
entire world
This is bogus I’ve done a search on this and it turns up nothing except for Up IN THE TREE HOUSE!!!
“This is not good.”
Ted the Hall Monitor and Snitch.
Like I said many times before, Ted Cruz got pantsed in the main hallway of High School and didn’t get laid until he was 27.
I wonder if Cruz was moved along in his schooling and political career because of affirmative action? He may not have applied for it, but being hispanic and having a hispanic name sure didn’t hurt him. He may have been picked or admitted to different things because they needed a token hispanic. I wouldn’t be surprised.
>> Tedâs campaign confirmed they sent them out.
So the mailing is confirmed.
Wow — a juvenile tactic I’d expect from the Democrats! This is embarrassing.
Cruz must fire his campaign manager immediately. This not only reflects poorly on his leadership skills, but it also feeds into the bogus stereotype of Republican statism.
That stunt will lose him another 15-20% of potential voters in his “target market”. LOL!
OTOH, 15-20% of voters nationwide will also deem him a real creep!
Brilliant move Cruz-but you still have zero chance of the VP slot on the Trump Train!
Not just shaming them but their Neighbors also, that is what makes me sick. I do not want to know what my Neighbors do or how they Vote, that is none of my business or theirs about me. I do not care what Camp uses it is is High Pressure stuff.
First Rule Of Holes. . .
Here’s a pic of the beautiful letter I received from Donald J. Trump today.
Hey, look at that. A letter full of information that a potential voter might find useful, and encouragement to go vote.
It’s really a shame that there’s no paragraph dedicated to the promise of a public flogging from your neighbors if you don’t support your comrades.
I really, really, really hate to even bring this up, but I find it extremely ironic that Cruz supporters have been saying Donald Trump is the next Hitler. Except, I swear, I’m just mentioning it light-heartedly to point out how the tables seemed to have turned. LOL!
They confirmed it.
Maybe this is why a bunch of his people just quit.
Sorry, Charlie, but people should be ashamed if they’re not voting. I don’t care who they vote for or if they write in their dog. But democracy dies when people don’t show up and participate in it.
Why are you bashing a Freeper?
I could understand if a mailer was snet out in an envelope stating that public records indicate you haven’t voted in a while and that I hope you will caucus Monday night for the future of our country and when you caucus, consider voting for Ted Cruz for President....or something along those lines. That would not be offensive and a very polite invitation as well as asking for the vote. The notice that the voting habits were gleamed from public records would not be offensive to the recipient as it would make sense.
This is a very bad move and one can squarely put this on his Campaign guru Jeff what’s his name. This looks like his work. I would be offended and either I would caucus and vote for someone else, or just not bother and say candidate so and so is a creep.
Nice!
Cruz didn’t do the ‘Horizontal Mambo’ until he was 27?
Now that is class. Was there a gold seal on the envelope too?
Complete nonsense. Cruz obviously is brilliant and has excelled academically and in his career far beyond nearly all the competition.
