For those of us who have been waiting decades for a Republican presidential candidate to figure out that the Establishment Media is already at war with us, Donald Trump is not only an answer to that prayer but an effective answer. After just taking down the once-infallible Fox News a notch, in New Hampshire Friday, The Donald eviscerated New Hampshireâs Union Leader.
The New York Times:
Mr. Trump has denounced the paper repeatedly since it endorsed Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey for president, but on Friday he let loose with a new and more intense stream of invective against The Union Leader and its publisher, Joseph W. McQuaid.
Mr. McQuaid, he said, was a âbad guy,â âa liar,â âa psychoâ and a âdirty dog.â He charged, not for the first time, that Mr. McQuaid had sought to extract advertising and political favors in exchange for an endorsement. Mr. McQuaid has consistently denied such assertions.
âIs there a lawyer in the house? Why donât we sue this dope?â Mr. Trump said.
To a member of the audience who seemed to volunteer, Mr. Trump asked: âYou want to sue him for me? Will you give me a good deal?â
As he did in his clash with Fox News, Mr. Trump described his willingness to take on the media as proof of his readiness for the presidency.
âHereâs the beauty of me,â Mr. Trump began. Referring to Mr. McQuaid, he said, âWhen we have a dirty dog like that, at least I have a microphone where I can speak back.â
In the next paragraph, you can actually sense The New York Times gripping its pearls:
For a Republican candidate to attack The Union Leader at all, let alone repeatedly and with such venom, is extraordinary in New Hampshire politics. T

The left will always tell you who they fear.
The media is a political enemy and must be treated as such.
How do we get that blasted square out of the way of the article on Breitbart?
Rock on, Donald!
Has anyone else noticed that whenever sombody pisses the manchild off, it always turns out, conveniently enough, that they had been asking him for things?
Every day I think that Trumpistas can’t get any more ignorant and stupid, and every day I’m surprised.
Ah... a couple of slobs mud wrestling. Where’s my beer?
Troll much?
John Nolte’s article is good news and ââ¬. Finally, someone is taking it to the unethical, spoiled children running our newspapers and television programs. I hope he cancels an appointment at a public university. And I enjoyed his interview with Michael Savage on the radio. Trump said, “Where are the leaders in Europe?” Good question. Probably meeting in Brussels with the Free Masons getting their orders.
How is referencing the content of the article, albeit in a way that paints little Donnie in a negative light, “trolling”?
Geez, you Trumpistas’ skin is as thin as your parking cone-tinted maestro.
Try this next time to get rid of all the cr@p characters:

Instead of this:
Mr. McQuaid, he said, was a âbad guy,â âa liar,â âa psychoâ and a âdirty dog.â
You get this:
Mr. McQuaid, he said, was a “bad guy,” “a liar,” “a psycho” and a “dirty dog.”
:-)
“In other words, the media is a political enemy”
The media are our blood enemies, and must be treated as such.
I dont believe half of what trump says when he talks about so and so called me for this, wanted me to do that, wanted to give me this much money, etc..all lies. Sooner or later it will b somebody u respect and like that he starts attacking for no good reason.
If he does win the GOP nomination, watch how fast he moves to the left..his supporters will have whiplash. But probably still defend him.
“Every day I think that Trumpistas canât get any more ignorant and stupid”
Yeah, a person would have to be very thin-skinned indeed to take offense at that.
Winning people over for your candidate by calling Creepers stupid. Brilliant plan!
The more I see and hear of Trump, the more I’m convinced he’s an opportunist liar.
I cannot understand how anyone trusts him.
The fact that you (inadvertently or not) referred to Donnie’s legion as “creepers” is hilariously accurate. Sums up Free Republic 2016 quite nicely.
“If he does win the GOP nomination, watch how fast he moves to the left..his supporters will have whiplash. But probably still defend him.”
Not to worry, we’re taking names of those TV Star’s drones here on FR and the level of zot will go nuclear. We will be in no mood to just say ‘told you so’.
All I can say is that McQuaid is “no” Bill Loeb, the late editor/owner of the Manchester Union Leader. Perhaps he shouldn’t be, i.e. to be his own man and step out of the shadow of Bill, but the MUL was one of the best conservative newspapers in the country.
Disclosure: I wrote a few columns for the MUL as well as letters to the editor, in the old days.
Bill, a friend, had a wonderful policy that most newspapers don’t have today. He said, “The editorial page belongs to me. The Letters to the Editor belong to the people”, and he often ran 3-4 pages of letters a day (averaging at least one to two full pages).
Loeb was a curmudgeon and proud of it but he respected his readers and gave them a voice in public affairs. This was back in the 70’s when the Letters to the Editor page of the NY Times and Wash. Post read like Pravda and letters from the loony bin.
If you didn’t know it, Bill Loeb was an advisor to Pres. Teddy Roosevelt, quietly, often in the shadows, and helped to reduce anti-Semitism in the government back when it was mainly an all-white WASP employment agency. I don’t know if you will find this in history books. I got it directly from TR’s granddaughter, my friend and journalist colleague Edith “Edie” Kermit Roosevelt.
Ah, those were the days, when men were men and conservative journalism was alive and kicking ass.
HOORAY Trump
