This is a vacancy which happens only once or twice in a generation, so expect a crowded field.
Here’s my take:
John Neely Kennedy is acceptable, but nothing great. Charles Boustany is an establishment hack, though I’d support him against a DemocRAT. Rob Manness is an unknown. John Fleming is my choice. Good conservative and medical credentials give him credibility on Obamacare.
I don’t know who will run on the other side.
I’m not much more inclined to favor Kennedy than Boustany, but he is preferable, Bosutany can’t be forgiven for his craven attempts to create a slightly safer seat for himself at the expense of the rest of the state. Kennedy is an ex-rat but seems to have been loyal since, supported Vitter for Governor unlike certain traitors.
I was very very much not in favor of Manness running last time. I am open to him this time under different circumstances though as ever I’m inclined to favor Fleming over someone with no record in office.
