Harry Reid: ‘I’m Kind of Pulling for’ Trump
Breitbart ^ | 27 Jan 2016 | Michelle Fields

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said Wednesday that he's considering backing Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"Look, we've gotten along fine," Reid said. "With that bunch of people running, I'm kind of pulling for him."

According to The Hill, Reid then tried to walk back his comments.

Asked about Trump's statement, Reid added, 'Oh, I remember the good old days when he did a fundraiser or two for me.'

Reid quickly walked back his comments, apologizing for joking about supporting Trump - whom he called a 'hateful demagogue who will do immeasurable damage to our country.'

'There's some things I shouldn't joke about,' he said from the Senate floor. 'The danger of a Donald Trump candidacy to our country is not a joke.'

On Tuesday Donald Trump appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe and spoke of his good relationship with Reid. From the Washington Times:
'I've always had a good relationship with Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) . . .

"Reverse psychology"

If it's reverse psychology, why did Reid try to back it off? You're whistling past the graveyard.

Good, Reagan was forced to compromise with Democrat leaders the whole time he was in office - it looks like Trump will be too as there is a good chance that Dems will take the Senate, or at least easily filibuster whatever they want.

Given that, I’d prefer someone that knows how to NEGOTIATE AND WIN, to someone that will simply give up and walk away.

This comment is laughable too and almost completely predictable. It is also what a follow through comment I’d expect who just suffered a hello Mr. Foot meet Mr. Mouth moment. What I clearly established in calling me a noob is that I’ve been here far longer than the name caller and come to think of it you as well. BUT that has NOTHING to do with anything. I could care less how long someone has been a member. If they made a good comment then good for them.

Reverse psychology. Harry knows Trump would be the strongest Republican candidate, so he says the opposite knowing he can hoodwink some gullible voters into thinking he really does want Trump, thereby turning some against Trump, who Harry actually fears.

Nice try at the double-take reverse strategy to get people to not vote for Trump. Not buyin’ it liar.

Of course he is. Wouldn’t the Democrats love to have two far-left liberals running in the general election.

You are more than dishonest the picture itself with no comment was posted on FR hundreds of times.

Trump was right he could shoot someone on national TV and you would still back him.

Double-smear attempt by Reid ...

First he mentions Trump fundraisers .. the good old days.

And then ...

Of course he is. It must be a democrat's wet dream to have a democrat at the top of the ticket on both sides of the ballot.

During the Reagan administration, Tip O'Neill was the Democrat leader, and was genuinely friendly with Reagan -- they were "frenemies." The two managed to get a lot done. Two big tall Irishmen sharing a few jokes before getting down to business:

Irrespective of nothing, Reagan always looked so beautifully tailored and groomed. I saw him once in person while he was in office and was knocked out by his genial and gentlemanly appearance. People said he dyed his hair, but even if so, it looked vefy natural; in this photo you can see the individual gray hairs finely interspersed. It looked just like that when I saw him.

That Reagan-O'Neill "friendship" or partnership is bogus. O'Neill hated Reagan, but there were enough Democrats in Congress who were willing to vote with Reagan that Tip had to tread lightly sometimes. Reagan was willing to talk with Congressional leaders from the other side, and that was something (Obama's barely willing to talk with those from his own side), but Chris Matthews likes to manipulate the past for his own purposes. Reid, one of the most notorious demagogues in US political history, should not be throwing insults at anyone — unless it’s Hillary.
