I would say the same exact thing. Its a play right out of the Prince , by Machiavelli.

With enemies you are not immediatley quarreling with directly but are yet an anticipated enemy, send out a niceity as they will immediatley be defensive. Which puts you dominant.

THe real fool is one who wastes energy attacking an enemy that doesnt need to be attacked yet. Waste of energy and invites unecessary confrontation.

They are also pushing Cruz now to help bring down Trump. Then they will take out the softer target Cruz. The GOPe will win again if Trump goes down. This is not to say that Cruz is not a good person or candidate it is just he does not have the tools to fight the GOPe alone.

Cruz’s only chance was to stay in the shadows longer than he did until the GOPe candidates could not recover. He then made the unfortunate remarks in the private gathering that went public. It was too early to take on Trump. He may win Iowa and if Trump goes down he could win large chunks of the South but they are proportional delegates. The GOPe candidate(s) will win winner take all. Even if he has more delegates the GOPe will award it to the GOPe candidate at the convention.

Trump seems to be afraid of Megyn's potential questions. I prefer a candidate with more courage.

And is Mister Trump really fearful perhaps cowardly so? of debating Senator Ted Cruz?

One suspects that Mister Trump will not accept Senator Cruz's invitation for a one-v-one debate before the Iowa Caucus.

Trump is coming off as a thin-skinned weakling.

(I am not a weakling. I anticipate criticism from my good conservative FRiends hereabouts. I will say that we are all on the same team, but we disagree about who should be our qb.).

Not a chance. No one who as got in in the fall has had a chance. I'm sure Bloomberg is not stupid in that way.

Plus, Murdoch has good odds: if Trump or Hillary win he is close to the president.

This is a very insightful article. Trump really is standing up to the RINOs at Fox and in Washington. I’ve been watching NEWSMAX TV as a conservative alternative to Fox News. They just added Dennis Michael Lynch to their lineup, which also includes Steve Malzberg and J.D. Hayworth, as well as others.

Irrespective of the Trump vs Cruz issue, I do not think for a moment that Trump is afraid of Megyn Kelly, or any other media person. That said, if he wanted to avoid a biased media affair there were other ways to do it that would have come off better, IMHO.

I do think there are members of the media who feel that it is their job to influence who winds of in the White House. It isn't, and outside of doing their job in vetting the candidates with equal effort, they should not have influence on the outcome.

One of the MANY, MANY positive particles of fallout for Trump in skipping this debate is that it gives the Fox-hating media an excuse to attack Fox, but only if they at least grudgingly give Trump kudos for his bailing on Fox and the GOPe.

“A poll came out yesterday showing Jeb! in third place in New Hampshire.”

RCP’s poll averages probably represents that situation a bit more accurately than a single poll:

“Jeb is pouring all his superpac money in New Hampshire. He spent a millions destroying Rubio. If he loses there he is out of the race.”

AND the real beauty of it all, Jeb destroyed Rubio for us! Quite frankly, Rubio is a bigger threat than Jeb, because Rubio is youthful, handsome, articulate and the most convincing liar I’ve ever seen in politics.

“Fox is just a less aggressive member of the MSM hegemony.”

Actually, Fox is the weakest (and newest) member of the MSM hegemony (if you assume MSNBC is so puny it doesn’t really count), so it makes total sense for Trump to attack the hegemony by attacking Fox. Plus, almost all of the secondary MSM hegemony players hate Fox, so this gives them the perfect excuse to ALSO attack Fox, though of course such an attack requires them to give at least grudging kudos to Trump for bailing on Fox. It’s really yet ANOTHER win-win situation for The Donald.
