Donald Trumpâs criticisms of Megyn Kelly have been weak, sexist, thin-skinned. His decision to back out of Thursday nightâs debate is childish and reflects a fear of having to debate his competitors on issues facing the country.
All that said, this dispute is turning into a spectacle with two losers. Fox News unwisely sent out a statement yesterday designed to mock the Republican front-runner for his decision to launch a Twitter poll on whether he should participate in the debate. Hereâs what that statement said:
We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president â a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.
On CNNâs âNew Dayâ this morning, co-host Alisyn Camerota, who formerly worked at Fox News, espied certain fingerprints on that statement: âGod, this is such typical Roger Ailes playbook. I worked for him for many years; I recognize this.â
Other pundits recognize it as well â and theyâre using it to aver that Trump has some firm footing in bailing on Fox News. Firm footing that heâd never have otherwise.

Complete b.s. article. First paragraph confirmed that fact.
That is disgusting.
Except it was Muslims who made the Jews wear the star in the 9 century, and that is where the Nazi’s learned it.
Hitler and the Muslims loved each other. They both loved killing Jews.

Hopefully trump can use his super duper negotiating skills we’ve heard so much about and get this settled....in his favor of course.
Fox News talkers look like retired porn actresses to me
With all that makeup, she’d be raped in murdered in a true Muslim country.
Thank God, political hand-wringing is not what Trump is about. He’s going to do what he needs to do and to h*ll with the “experts” and worrisome political prognosticators.
That is one reason why I think Trump will win. We want a real person, not politically-scrubbed candidate.
I'll give him that.
You imply Trump’s phony. I don’t think so. He speaks from his gut unlike a lot of these polished political professionals who come across as rehearsed but not necessarily genuine.
But I think he's willing to say pretty much anything to get himself elected, as he did when he read that statement on ethanol. And he plays to his crowd as necessary.
I don't think Trump thinks ideologically at all. He's a pure pragmatist, and thinks what he brings to the Presidency are his brains, deal-making ability, and competence. Not a particular set of beliefs or ideology.
So the point is that to the extent people are relying on him coming through on specific issues...I wouldn't bank on it. A year from now, he might go back to thinking that deporting all those illegals is "mean-spirited", or impractical, or would hurt the country/economy, and do a complete 180.
Well, on one hand you’re saying he believes in what he’s doing and genuinely wants to make America great again. I think that too.
But then on the other hand, you seem to be saying that Trump does not necessarily believe what he’s saying. I don’t buy that because either he believes in what he’s saying and doing or he doesn’t. I think he does.
That isn’t to say I think Trump is right on everything because I don’t think he is. But then nobody is. I think Trump can get the ball rolling. His VP has got to be the guy we want as President after eight years. Seems like a Trump/Cruz ticket would be a good one.
Probably one of the strongest draws to Trump is that he will whoop the Dem’s candidates like he was their daddy. I don’t see Cruz beating Hillary and Co. but I see Trump beating her like a drum. With Trump there’s hope. At this point, I don’t see much of an alternative, really, because another Dem/Socialist President would be so disastrous.
Trump sees himself as a problem-solver, and how he sees a problem one day might not be how he sees it the next. To put it differently, both Republicans and Democrats would like to improve inner city poverty. The goal is the same, but our ideologies lead us to prefer vastly different means of achieving that result.
I am confident Trump will always do what he thinks best. But I think he's too much of a pragmatist to be able to count on him following through on specific promises.
Just as one tiny example -- just about every person you try to deport physically is entitled to a court hearing (that has to be scheduled, etc.), and for which the illegal is entitled to a taxpayer funded lawyer. If you know anything about the court system, the idea that we could actually "round up and deport" tends of million of aliens is a pipedream. It simply cannot happen in anything less than...a long period of years.
So what does the pragmatist Trump do when his promise to round up and deport all those people collides with the realities of the legal system? Where does he go from there?
I don't know. And that's the problem.
Hmmm.
One who is in the country illegally is entitled to a hearing before being deported? So anyone that sneaks into this country has that right? Not sure that’s a constitutional right. The Constitution applies to protecting American citizens, not aliens.
You bring up a good point, though, about how to justly process this mass deportation. To me, you start in the prisons. They’ve already been processed and if they are here illegally, they’re thrown out.
Sometimes too much make-up and high heels.
