Rupert Murdoch is urging former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to throw his hat in the ring and run for president.
"This is Bloomberg's last chance," the billionaire media mogul tweeted Wednesday morning. "You never know until your hat is in the ring!"
Murdoch added, in what may be a veiled reference to Donald Trump's planned boycott of Thursday's GOP presidential debate on his Fox News Channel: "Events change everything, especially during elections."

Murdoch is proving to be a sleazy bastard.
why would a conservative be watching fox in the first place?
ah, i can’t lie. i only gave it up 10 months ago after heeding FReepers advice to pay attention and decide if they were really conservative.
the answer was a big FAT no.
and there’s too much yelling on Oreilly and Hannity and Kelly’s a loudmouth too.
once Bill Schultz left Red Eye there was no reason to tune in at all.
This would suggest that Murdoch (owner of Fox) is NOT a supporter of Mr. Trump?! Why, that’s just unbelievable! He wants Bloomberg to jump in as what? Independent? Wouldn’t that take votes away from Hitlery? I can’t see any Trump supporters jumping over to Bloomberg.
Bloomberg is not exactly an exciting candidate.
And, lets say, lacking the common touch.
He’s going to need a pile of his money to run, and at a guess will do poorly with Republican voters.
He may well draw a lot of Democrats.
The Powers That Be think that they be powerful.
But that may be less true now than it was last year.
I feel like I’m watching a time lapse weather report ... watching the storm develop over the Atlantic and seeing the latest dopler radar accompanied with clever animation ... The storm grows ... cat 1 ... cat 2 ... the clouds swirl ... a couple of fishing boats have gone missing .... headed slowly towards the SE US ....
So basically, Murdock is admitting he only wants people in office that he can manipulate? Is that what he’s saying?
That’s what I’m hearing.
1 minute into Megyn Kelly and it’s pretty clear that she should not be moderating this debate.
Is Bloomberg behind all of this?
What a pnic move!!! Michael who?
Go back to whatever hole you came out of.........
I’m bitterly clinging to my guns and big gulps.
I stopped watching TV in 1959, when I realized all the programming was fraudulent.
All I can say is thank God for the Internet. They are not able to indoctrinate and control us like they used to and they can’t stand it. This election cycle is the breakaway one that will send them to the insane asylum.
Murdoch, MeGyn, Michael and Fox would be a strong team.
wasn’t around yet, but i saw the movie Quiz Show about the quiz show scandal :)
..”Even if Trump’s boycott backfires, he’s already achieved a historic victory: exploding the myth that a Republican candidate can’t openly challenge Fox,”...
Trump did exactly that.
We’ll see who the bigger dog is I guess.
I don’t know if I’d use the past tense yet. It’s ongoing. We have a General to win.
