Free Market Economist Thomas Sowell recently joined other National Review contributors in criticizing Donald Trump and his candidacy for President of the United States. Stefan Molyneux responds to the writing of one of his intellectual heroes - and illustrates the flawed reasoning contained within Dr. Sowell's "Do Emotions Trump Facts?" article.

I have been a big fan of Sowell's since 1970. He's absolutely wrong about Trump; and should retire. His assessment of Trump is benighted, incorrect, and irrational.
It is hard to rebut Sowell. See you found someone. Sowell is dead on. His article should be read by all.

He quoted mainly from the Art of the Deal, which is an uncanny description of the man's campaign. His beliefs on how to handle the media are right there in print. In other words, we're seeing someone who has perfected his craft a long long time. He kinda reminds you of a boxer named Cassius ClAY who took his style from a wrestler named Gorgeous George.
He also mentions that Sowell was a communist in his 20s. That I've not seen Sowell acknowledge; perhaps it was in some of his books. But it certainly is worth investigating further, and it explains Sowell's switch to sophistry in these recent attacks on Trump, rather than his customary logic.
Read on. I do not think he is fit to tie Thomas Sowell’s shoes. Sowell has a brilliant mind. This dude isn’t even cluse to Sowell’s level.
I have noticed a trend by nobodies to try and be somebodies by including the name of a famous person in their title in some way. “Open letter to....famous person..” or this rebuttal sort of thing.
This chump is a nobody borrowing Sowell’s name in hopes of getting more attention. What is that term? Hit baiting or something like that.
You can talk til you’re blue in the face, and very few of us are going to buy it.
I know one thing, he has no lobbyists except us...so if what you say is true, he answers to us, and I assure you, our lobby is the loudest and the biggest.
YOu keep your politicians who in my life time NEVER do what they promise.

Sowell’s rhetoric on Trump shows me that he’s really not as smart as we thought he was.

Sowell's recent writing on this Trump topic isn't even close to Sowell's level. Sowell is not above becoming, or returning to, a state of being intellectually corrupted. That is precisely the state of a communist mind.
I don't believe Molyneaux would have said Sowell was a communist in his 20s, unless Sowell had previously admitted to the same.
I don’t believe you understand Trump very well. I don’t believe you understand how he is results driven.
Sowell's column was Alinskyite sophistry. Molyneaux explains that quite clearly.
As one who truly has not decided between Trump and Cruz, I can sit back and observe. What I see is people hardening their positions for one or the other. What I fear is that those positions will become so hardened that the Establishment wins. Not just the GOP Establishment (which really is quite insignificant), but the Globalists - George Soros and his ilk - who want a New World Order ruled by them.
The Establishment is fomenting and enjoying the bitterness and name calling. We are being divided, the easier to conquer. If you think its bad now, wait until the general election. A CW2 will have been fought and lost IF we don’t stop playing their game and unite against our real enemies. Discuss, not hate.
