JANUARY 22, 2016 ~ CONSISTENTCONSERVATIVES
This is an emergency means for us to keep in touch with our FRiends, who are real Conservatives, in case of purging. Or, if there is no purging, do we really want to continue our discussions in the forum where the owner despises us for not supporting his non-Conservative candidate?
My purpose is to figure out what to do to continue our discussions to advance Conservatism.
Oh, I don’t know...
For FR?
For civility?
For positive discussion and discourse?
Pick one or make your own.
Good post. I’m feeling the same.
Thank you, Twink.
I LOVE idea, m. Remember when Barney would be frustrated and with his hands he would roll up his face, into his hair and mess up his hair wildly, where it was sticking straight up, and out!!
Priceless comedy!
I love Don Knotts. Recently had friends over to watch the ghost and mr chicken on the back deck. Such simple fun.
I so want to call the “crabby” ones “Cruzstaceans” LOL
just kidding Cruz folks
Well, if conservatives stay home if Trump is elected, it just proves that the conservative movement is not really a movement.
It’s a minority faction that is irrelevant.
And we can hardly criticize RINOs if they stay home becaus LIL Jebbie didn’t win.
Either way we lose.
Poll are showing Trump picking up 20% of blue collar Reagan Democrats if he wins. That means we win states like NJ and Pa and all of the purple states. In effect it’s a possible LANDSLIDE.
Elections are about winning...not crying all the way home so you can cry some more.
Walking away at this critical juncture will kill the Conservative movement. It won’t help it.
There will be 3 Supreme Court Justices appointed by the next President. That is the reality. If conservatives are in the Trump or Cruz movement and either wins, we need to be part of it and influence Trump or Cruz on those picks.
No, I’m allergic to cats.
Why won’t you support a nominee out of a brokered convention?
Ahh, good for you! TOO fun!
I'd love to know what it said.
‘Consistent Conservatives’ is an angry lot right now which is pretty consistent with breakaway groups. Recall Wideawakes when they split off over, what was it, Giuliani?
Their posts seem to be largely split between Trump bashing, Trump-zealot bashing, and JR/FR bashing. A few calmer voices over there aren’t venting anger as much as they are ruing all the vitriol on the threads.
It’s a bit surprising to see some of them saying that FR infighting hasn’t been this bitter before, or that purges are new. I don’t like purges one bit and they are hardly new as you know all too well. I guess they weren’t around for the Great Immigration Purge that wiped out a lot of good freepers, back when the Dubya gang tried to silence all debate on the subject.
Some of the CC crowd have been as guilty of fomenting trouble here as the freepers they complain about. There has been plenty of nastiness from both sides and it’s not surprising to see another exodus. This one will peter out after the election when things calm down a bit.
Its a tiny exodus compared to Amar Ivan’s pied piper parade
To me it illustrates the immaturity of so many here
To have such a fit over Trump to the point supporting Trump and Cruz or vice versa is not enough
One must detest Trump or else
I have noted though many a south basher is on the Cruz or nothing bandwagon
And Trump is very popular as number one pick in Dixie
His biggest crowds overall
I’m happy either way but I think Trump is more electable and unique in an instinctive way
Of course all that means I’m not a real conservative
Looks like “Committed Conservatives”’ gain is FR’s BIG WIN.
Unfortunately, my personal leftist FReak stalker from a few months ago hasn’t jumped ship yet.
Please let’s end this. I said what I wanted to say.
As did I.
Who’s been banned for opposing Trump
I’ve seen a few zotted for being over the top
If JR zots folks trying to organize an exodus I’d understand wouldn’t you?
But on the exodus thread with JR participating I saw folks openly posting on the ant freeper site and on that thread
And no one zotted them
This from 1991 The D had taken over both houses of congress in 86. As a result we got a law that allowed aliens to become citizens and a tax law that ruined the economy. Trump, who as a Reagan man was called before congress to help with the economy. Notice the tone!http://www.c-span.org/video/?c4545958/trump1991
Good point and nice find there.
One thing though. Reagan only ever "had" the Senate.
Most importantly he never had the House, nor was it ever even close.
------------------------ HOUSE ---- SENATE ........................(D).(R)....(D).(R) .97th ... 1981-1983 ... 243-192 ... 46-53 .98th ... 1983-1985 ... 268-167 ... 45-55 .99th ... 1985-1987 ... 253-182 ... 47-53 100th ... 1987-1989 ... 258-177 ... 54-46
The (D)ummycrats always point to the so-called (R)epublican Senate but that is a myth. Anyone who thinks we have RINOs now don't remember back then when there were no Sessions, Lee, or Cruz's. Functionally they had a majority to organize the Senate leadership but in reality it was barely different than the Harry Reid Senate. You need 60 (R) members to really call it (R)epublican, but as we have seen with turncoats, that number really would need to be 70 to be reliable because of all the GOPe influence.
That (R) +10 for Reagan after the 1980 election was definitely newsworthy at the time, but all it really meant was non-stop horse trading. RINOs are programmed to fail, it is in their DNA. The (D)ummycrats always had effective control of Congress because +10 (R)INO Senators will never cut it. Had the President *not* been Reagan they would have continued their 1960's to 1970's destruction of America uninterrupted.
” But they will find that there is no way to establish an internet discussion forum in which all members are in 100% agreement with each other. Eventually, rifts will develop and feelings will be hurt and you will have the same periods of division that we see around here from time to time. “
Wideawakes being a prime example. I was lurking there the night that they had a coup d’etat and locked the founder out of his own website. I have to admit that I was very amused at seeing that sanctimonious crew engaged in a civil war.
Good points.
