VINTON, Iowa, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Hillary Clinton has been taking increasing credit for the Affordable Care Act in a bid to discredit the healthcare policy of opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders.
At a campaign stop Thursday in Vinton, Iowa, she told supporters: "It was called Hillarycare before it was called Obamacare. I don't want to start over again, I don't want to rip up this accomplishment and begin this contentious debate all over again."

By contrast, the healthcare reform plan put forward by Clinton's husband in 1993 was far more overreaching than the Affordable Care Act, and in fact more similar to Sanders' plan for single-payer. The Clinton Health Security Act, as it was called, did not even make it to a vote in the Democratic-led Congress.

You’re right that any sane person would distance themselves from it, but the Dems are pandering to people who view Obama as a success. Look at how Hillary and Bernie were recently squabbling about who loved Obama more.
This really highlights the divide in this country: Those who want more freebies (including “HillaryCare/ObamaCare” subsidies), and those expected to pay for them. Obama’s re-election should have terrified anyone who understood what the 2012 election said about the people who vote in this country.

That’s right; I’m surprised they are so blatant about it. I guess I should just get used to those faces; that is certainly the future (and in many places already the present) here in the Northeast. Without Nikki Haley-type pandering, the Republicans can kiss national elections good-bye (and even that probably won’t work), and with each passing year more regional races.
