Donald Trump has captured a double-digit lead in the first voting state of Iowa a little over a week before the caucuses there, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Thursday.
Trump is supported by 37 percent of likely GOP voters in the Hawkeye State, followed by Ted Cruz, at 26 percent, and Marco Rubio at 14 percent.
That represents at least a 3-point rise for each of those candidates from the same survey conducted in late November and early December. All other candidates remain in single digits in the latest survey, with Ben Carson at 6 percent, Jeb Bush at 3 percent, Mike Huckabee at 3 percent and Rand Paul at 2 percent.

Looks like the bloom has come off the Rose for Cruz in Iowa.
Last CNN Poll in 2008 had Romney +6. Huckabee won +9.
The day of the actual caucus only hitting the large areas, CNN had Romney 25, Paul 21, Santorum 18. Final results: Santorum 24 Romney 24, Paul 21
320,000 Caucus Voters in JUST the GOP Primary? Let me put it this way. Every FReeper that posts in this thread has a better than of winning the next Powerball Jackpot than this happening. All reports on the ground are that it will be a stretch to get even 20,000 new caucus goers.
This is why Silver still has Cruz at 52% probability to still win IA.
Jethro is picking up momentum!
I cannot believe that these Iowans would reject Jeb’s steady hand and his tested proven leadership.
Did they not see what he did in Florida!?
That’s the STATE OF FLORIDA just to be clear, it’s a real state!
Yo Don, thumbs up!
Yo Don, thumbs up!
Exactly!
Voters already know that and they don’t care.
Trump will run the table
while Cruz(R-Goldman Sachs) returns to the Senate to shut down the
government some more.
That is all he has got to look forward to.
Guess Jeb’s billboard campaign is really working .. what an embarrassment.. makes me wonder why he is still in the race , convention shenanigans perhaps ?
“Last CNN Poll in 2008 had Romney +6. Huckabee won +9.”
So what you are trying to say is Trump will lose Iowa and win the primary. OK.
Agree. Nothing like a smear campaign and knife into a former ally's back to give the celebration some justice.
I'll be thinking about Mr Trump and the Trumpets here at FR when I pull the lever for the most conservative 3rd party candidate come November.
Enjoy!!!!!!!
What you’re really saying is that Trump was apolitical. He’s not apolitical anymore.
Trump will win.
He deserves to win.
Okay, Ted has Trump right where he wants him.
ROTF LMAO
Sometimes folks, just like it glide on by.
