Real-estate mogul Donald Trump got some great news Thursday afternoon in the form of a new CNN/ORC poll showing him pulling ahead in Iowa.
That survey showed him leading his top rival, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), 37% to 26%, among likely Iowa caucus-goers.
But the CNN poll was apparently too recent for Trump to tout at a Thursday rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead, Trump boasted about his results in another recent Iowa poll, from Emerson College, that found him beating Cruz 33% to 23%.

The sound of confidence and happiness is in the eye of the beholder, then. You call it, “acting like a spoiled child”. We say, this is what winning sounds like.
TRUMP 2016
The polls always get more accurate as they get closer to the election. Most of the sane people here knew all along that cruz was not ahead in Iowa, and never was. It was just a ploy by the msm media to try and take Trump out. It was mean really, toying with the cruzers like that and getting their hopes up. But there never was any chance cruz was going to win even a single state, never.
Trump’s lead in this poll was +13 the last time it was conducted. Now it’s only +11.

Yep Trump gained 4% and Cruz gained 6%...... Cruz better get on it as they
will be caucusing in Iowa on the night of the 11th day hence. 2% gain in a month
leaves a big corn row to climb.
Thanks, I actually just followed that link and far as I could determine the Emerson poll was an automated telephone poll. I am not sure what the differences in results are between automated and live person telephone polls but I am guessing that is why it is not included in the RCP average.
A third is a two-point Trump lead and a fourth is a two-point Cruz lead, so I think it’s safe to say the overall direction is toward a 3-4 point Trump lead.
Make America great again is the new “hope and Change”
What’s changed?

This CNN poll is in line with their last poll a month ago. Trump up 4% and Cruz up 6%
equals net gain for Cruz of 2%.
It’s the big Mo.
Beck has more sway than Palin?
You’re out of your freakin’ mind.
Beck is a lunatic. Palin is a Patriot.
As I know you’re in the Cruz camp, I will take your info with a grain of salt.
<< “Santorum was in sixth place - and won.” >>
Weird IOWA doesn’t really matter, but for maybe a hopeful bump into New Hampshire. Cruz “ain’t” getting it. TRUMP, otoh, is killin’ it in NH.
TRUMP is killing it everywhere, including on the DRUDGE Super Poll.

He most certainly deserves victory laps.....
...He has won our hearts across America!!!
Fair enough. I just ask that you follow the link to Nate Silvers tweet so you can read it for yourself without any bias that I might bring to it.
I like the poll results, but I’m waiting to see what polls say later on, maybe Sunday or Monday. That way there can be some indication of what effect, if any, that the Palin endorsement had in Iowa.
I don’t agree with that. All but one person I know thinks Beck is a loon.
As Rush says all the time - MSM produce polls to drive/create an outcome/narrative, not to report on one.
If you look at all three Iowa polls released today, you have to say one or two is/are an outlier(s), or that no conclusion can be made. I wouldnât bet on anything - in terms of what the actual situation is on the ground.
Questions that comes to my mind when considering these polls:
Whatâs changed? Palin? Would that really produce such a huge change this quickly?
Impact of last debate? No clear winner seemed to come out of it.

Cruz has had a terrible couple of weeks...citizenship issues, loan issues, New York issues & more have gone into his decline which is now showing up in the polls.
Ironic.
