U.S. Sen. Richard Burr on Thursday strongly denied a news report that said he had told people he would vote for Democrat Bernie Sanders over Republican Ted Cruz.
Burrâs aides asked The Associated Press for a retraction. An AP spokesman said the news agency was sticking by its story.
âI will support whoever the GOP nominee is,â Burr tweeted. â@AP is trying to create discord where there isn't discord by telling lies.â

I believe APs reporting considering Burr is a RINO.

As a NC voter for Burr, if this is true, he will never get my vote again. (I also would say this if he said this about Trump)

I'm a Trump supporter, and I absolutely believe this story.
If my man doesn't win, then he wasn't strong enough to overcome the hurdles. That's OK. Running for President isn't afternoon tea with the queen. It's a tough business.
Although I have my favorite, I will ABSOLUTELY support the eventual nominee. Well, unless it's Bush.

I am too! He probably did say it. He and McCain are best buds and McCain called Cruz a “wacko bird” or some such! I will never vote for Burr again! NEVER

Why does Burr care? He votes Dem in the Senate anyway.

Iâm looking forward to voting against Burr in the primary this year.Yeah, it's time for him to go.
Another huge disappointment has been Renee Ellmers, 2nd district. I think she caught that contagious disease, the Washington good life.

Someone should explain to the idiot senator he would not need to ask for a retraction if they were lying.
WTF? Does he spend his days napping and playing checkers with Thad?
