Too many roided-up meatheads going into law enforcement these days. The steroids lead to some "roid rage", not to mention a feeling that they are invincible. Cops weren't like that in the past (for the most part).

"Would it be in the best interest of the defendant, as a result of this isolated and unfortunate mistake of judgment, to deprive him of his employment, of his livelihood?" Salant asked from the bench, speaking to a courtroom packed with FBI agents supporting their colleague as well as friends and family supporting the teenager. "To impact upon his children? To impact upon the service that he can bring to the community? I think not."

So much to be angry about here. First who cares what is best for the convicted, a judge should care about the victim. Second, why is the courtroom packed with FBI supporting their scum co-worker. Just reinforces the idea that there are no good FBI agents as they will all back up the criminals among their ranks. Some days I think there is not a decent person left in the federal government.

This behavior MAKES SENSE:

What if YOU belonged to an entity that burned down a church KNOWN to be PACKED with 100 believers, including 20 kids? And almost NONE of them survived? AND it was ALL on live TV...?

And then NO ONE got punished..?

Indeed when Bill Clinton saw that Janet Reno’s approval ratings WENT UP after she accepted responsibility, well ole’ Bill ALSO tried to take the blame..!

It freaking HELPED them..!

Mightn’t YOU also be at least a LITTLE emboldened, if you saw that and worked for them?

What if your organization also tried to set up Richard Jewell and likewise suffered NO punishment?

Ya think there’d be no consquences on FBI behavior after that?

Face it:

The FBI is unprofessional, politicized and CORRUPTED.

I am not clear after reading and watching video-—why was the FBI agent there? One of those women was his girlfriend? Which one?

I was with everyone on the cop thing until I read this...”got within 18 inches of his face”...

Seems to me it wasn’t a one sided affair and that the kid helped to escalate the situation.

That being said the agent had no right to insert himself into the situation to begin with OR to talk about arrests.

“The assault conviction was set aside.”

The first paragraph of the article is incorrect; the conviction was not set aside during the sentencing hearing. However, if the agent satisfies the conditions of probation, the conviction will be expunged from his record.

Hard evidence of what some of us (who have worked for Federal agencies - me...2 agencies) have been trying to tell you. Almost all supervisory level Fed boys have this attitude. They are unaccountable.

He should read the Bible, specifically Proverbs 26:17 and he will have less trouble in life.

Proverbs 26:17 - Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own.

So he keeps his nose clean for 2 years, and in effect gets zero consequences for his thuggery. He's already got 20 years in at the Bureau, so presumably he'll take retirement now or very soon, collect his pension, and stay out of the limelight. If and when it becomes time to clean house in DC, hopefully people will also remember thugs like Rogero who abused their authority and escaped the consequences.

Thanks for digging the details up.

This result doesn't surprise me at all. Not one little bit. Some animals are more equal than others.

Yeah, the kid was within arm’s length. On top of that, he had the audacity to ask the man in authoritay how this family matter was any of his business.

The kid should have known that any stranger could potentially be a cop, and therefor must be obeyed. He’s lucky he didn’t get pistol whipped, or shot.

From the article:

"And then he came up and told me, 'I'll kick your ass,'" Rogero continued lying, referring to the teen on the ground.

"That's a lie, officer," the teen said, still facedown on the sidewalk.

The lawman should to jail time, especially because of lying when reporting the "facts". All caught on camera, all the lies from the lawman. Fire him, jail him. Shows they get special treatment for thuggery over ordinary citizens.
