MSNBC’s “Hardball†host Chris Matthews said that “I do believe in reparations, if he could figure out what it would be†in a discussion on Democratic presidential candidate Senator Sen. Bernie Sanders ’ (I-VT) position on the issues on Wednesday.

I believe in reparations for former slaves from former slave owners. If you are one or the other, please step forward.

His show should be called Oddball.
Matthews should volunteer himself, his wife, and 3 kids to be slaves of some black pimp.
Let Bernie run on the Reparations platform. I dare him. I double dare him.
And, of course, we all know that it wouldn’t just be a “one and done” situation. Every successive generation would want their handout. And the number of victim groups would expand every year.
The whole subject is pretty academic though. We are already broke several times over and the $$ isn’t there. Although at some point (as a prelude to Civil War), they might try to seize the assets of White people to directly transfer the wealth. I’ll probably be dead before than happens though.

Reparations? That’s easy. Every surviving former slave who was legally held in slavery in the South should be paid the value of 40 acres and a mule by every surviving slave owner from the slave states.
Patriotically, I already did my share and more. I personally gave 40 acres of prime cropland and a mule to every slave I ever owned, and then I did the same for slaves owned by my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, and great-great-great-grandparents. I didn’t have any connection to Southern slavery, and neither does anyone else alive, but facts don’t matter. You know, diversity and all.
One way boat trip to Africa, Oops, did I say that out loud.
Ah, Chris is just feeling guilty because his daughter’s huge wedding was all white, and we aren’t talking about the apparel.
I’d be willing to just give them California to do with as they please, provided we just call it even.

The Democrat Party is a present legal entity. The legal entity of the Democrat Party has been in existence since 1830 or so.
The Democrat Party was dedicated to the advancement and protection of slavery. The Democrat Party opposed the 13th Amendment. The Democrat Party used the terrorist racist KKK. The Democrat Party advanced segregation and Jim Crow. FDR and every other prominent Democrat throughout 150 years of history exploited and advanced the hatred of black Americans. The Democrats have not so much as apologized as a party.
I really do not get it. For years I have advocated reparations to be paid by the Democrat Party. Yet even conservatives have dismissed the idea because they oppose “reparations” period.
I am perplexed. The justice, fairness and “legal” basis (an identifiable existing entity which presently benefits from the wrong-doing toward black Americans) are there.
This argument should be advanced every day relentlessly, especially among black Americans.
Trump is the only one smart enough to take advantage of this beautiful argument. I hope he does.
