Mr. Trump's support [36 percent] was down a bit from 41 percent in a Monmouth poll released last month, while Mr. Cruz picked up 3 points of support since last month.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has a 19-point edge over his closest 2016 GOP rival, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, in a national poll on the Republican field released Wednesday.
Mr. Trump was at 36 percent in the poll from Monmouth University, followed by Mr. Cruz at 17 percent, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida at 11 percent, and retired doctor Ben Carson at 8 percent. The survey was conducted from Jan. 15-18, after last weekâs GOP debate in South Carolina....

Only thing that matters right now is Iowa. Everything else is noise.
You are 100 percent correct. I pray that Sarah put Trump over the finish line. I think she will because Trump was only a little behind Cruz. All we need is Trump to win Iowa and the primary is over. Please win this Donald. The United States needs you now more then ever.
Trump’s previous lead over Cruz: 27%
Trump’s current lead over Cruz: 19%
Trump’s lead cut by 30% = ((27% - 19%) / 27%)
Must be the media out to get him, the MoE is off, they oversampled Conservatives, Monmouth is in NJ and NJ is blue, just wait for the Palin surge!.........what did I miss?
That poll is Jan 13 - a lot has happened in the past 7 days.

Shhhh.... they’re trying to stick with their narrative so they don’t go into convulsions!
Cincinatus’ Wife sits up all night reading all the bad crap against Trump so she something to post the next day....
She should go ask Scott Walker for a ride on his Harley, she might feel better!!!
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
LOL
I really don't think either side is being swayed to change their position.
And I believe most will support either man if nominated.
The link you posted was for a poll on Jan 13.
Old news. A lot has happened in the last week.
Trump leads Cruz in the Iowa average of polls. Only Des Moines gave Cruz a 3 point lead within the margin of error, and that, after showing him plummet 6 points.
The link in post #3 - check.
If every Trump supporter on FR flipped over to Cruz, or every Cruz supporter on FR flipped over to Trump, the outcome of the election, whatever it turns out to be, would be exactly the same.

I am a Cruz supporter, but can hold my nose and vote for Trump if need be.
Right now, based on the polling data, this race is Trump’s to lose. Running some basic assumptions from the polling data shows that Trump will have enough delegate votes at the GOP convention to not go to a second ballot.
That (clearly marked) is the Iowa poll.
The poll out today (thread story) is a national poll.
