Not even George S. Patton, Jr. believed he was ENTITLED to WIN every battle.

This is not about being entitled to win, it is about fighting to win.

And if someone doesn't challenge Cruz in the primary and he wins, you can bet the Democrats will challenge him.

"Trump is losing his dignity here"

Yup, he's sinking lower and lower with the 60% that already doesn't like him.< He brags about "his lead" in the polls. The same polls show him doing worse against Hillary than Cruz or Rubio. Is anybody going to ask him why he thinks the polls are so accurate? Sad, but I'm beginning to think I'd prefer Kasich or Bush to Trump (not Lindsay Graham, though).

NONE of the current crop will accept a VP slot, with the only possible exception being Fiorina. Trump won’t either. Not that it would be offered at this point.

” It would be interesting to know if the world lacked Donald Trump how his supporters would view Ted Cruz”

If Trump wasn’t in the race, Cruz would still be silent on illegal immigration, as he was the first many months of the race. That’s why I quit supporting him. I think without Trump, Cruz would’ve been viewed much like Tancredo and Hunter were when W was forced on us. He wouldn’t be doing nearly as well as he is now. He would’ve stayed low in the polls like during the first few months of the race. He’s been changing his positions to match Trump and been tiptoeing in Trump’s footsteps.

-- The Trum/Cruz fallout has touched off a nasty civil war on FR, the likes of which I have never seen since I joined. --

Relative newbie (no slight intended). This is pretty mild. This primary contest could, but shouldn't, lead to a purge or collection of some opusus (voluntary self-exile).

The tension now can be resolved with little in the way of lingering hard feelings. People just need to check their emotions at the door, best they can.

Saw that. We are seeing the same set up.
My thought is the RNC will file the suit as to clarify CRUZ Rubio Santorum Jindall and even Trumps qualification. They will state that they want party unity and not divisive lawsuits within the party. Blah blah blah

‘That and floating John Kaisich as a possible VP pick.’

Trump didn’t do that.

I agree it would be a mismatch. Still, the goal in court is not so much to outwit the other side as it is to convince the justices that "original intent" follows along your train of reasoning. Cruz could beat Trump, but how does he fair against "original intent". Accidentally Trump and Cruz may discover they are both ineligible. Wouldn't that be a circus!
