Fox News ^ | December 8, 2014 | Evan McMurry

Posted on 01/15/2016 12:10:28 PM PST by detective

"Are you really worried that your son is at risk from your own police department?" was the question This Week host George Stephanopoulos posed to Gotham Mayor Bill de Blasio Sunday morning, after de Blasio's comments following the Eric Garner grand jury decision got him in hot water with the police union.

This is an article from December 2014 but it is relevant to the "New York values" debate. NYC Mayor De Blasio said that police were racist and that they threatened and endangered black and mixed race children like his own.

Now De Blasio and other NYC politicians are attacking Senator Cruz and using the NYPD and FDNY responders to the 9/11 attacks to defend their position. These is the same politician who said that the NY police were racist and a threat to their children.

Cruz should call them out on their hypocracy.

That being said Cruz should not have said NY values. That attacks everyone who lives in NY State. He should have said NY liberals or NY politicians.

Most ...everyone understood what CRUZ said!

those who whine, bitch, moan, whimper or yell about it...are dishonest and vengeful for another reason entirely.

“Most ...everyone understood what CRUZ said!”

I haven’t met or heard of anyone who “understood” what Cruz said. People thought he was attacking everyone who lived in NY State.

De Blasio should warn his son to stay away from drugs and shoplifting, and stuff like that. Then he’s likely to be safe enough. Especially with a squadron of armed security guards watching out for him.

“Most ...everyone understood what CRUZ said!”

Not so.

He compared three states in his comment, not cities.

He’s an ass.

In case anyone is totally clueless about NY values, the NY Daily News classlessly explains....

Yep, Cruz really stuck his foot in his mouth big time. Now the Dems have some pretty good ammo. Horrible.

I posted this on another thread:

I agree. I'm very disheartened FREEPERS are jumping on this bandwagon when everyone damn good and we'll knows what Cruz meant. Trump's whole campaign is based on rough, harsh comments without apology - with non-stop excuses made for them. That aside, I will vote for Trump if he's the nominee...but this is pathetic.

That stupid, idiot of a mayor should have brought his son up to act properly in public and to follow the law like everyone else.

That way his son will have very little interaction with law enforcement.

Knowing the way this punk of a mayor acts his son will turn out just like him.

No one can bitch and moan like most from New York City.

When Gerald Ford refused to bail their bankrupt buts out in 75, they helped elect Jimmy Carter.

Waaaahhhh NYC...wants some cheese with that wine?

Excellent point. Hypocrites/racists like DeBlasio don’t have a problem smearing people to advance their own political agendas

But for this POS to call out Cruz wreaks of his sick, insane mind. He’s scum of the earth.

“Now the Dems have some pretty good ammo. Horrible.”

He isn’t going to win NY anyway. Republicans in NY State will still vote for him. And he will still lose NY because NYC will vote for Hitler if he had a “D” next to his name.

73% of New Yorkers voted for this de Blasio guy so Ted Cruz is exactly right that New York values are not American values.

To be accurate, 73% of New Yorkers did not vote for deBlasio.

It was 73% of those who voted.

Those who voted made up only 24% of the registered voters.

So, roughly only 18% of total NY registered voters actually voted for deBlasio.

By saying that he has excused his son of any future crimes and told him he can blame them on racist cops.
