This one is a bit surreal.
Footage from a Donald Trump rally has gone massively viral, but not because of yet another bombastic and inflammatory comment from the Republican candidate. This time, the center of attention is a song and dance routine put on by the so-called "USA Freedom Kids" during a rally that's as frightening as it is unintentionally hilarious.
A casual look at the lyrics, which are set against a MIDI-quality remix to the jingoistic "Over There" that was employed for recruitment in the early 20th century, show a tin ear for lyrics and a bizarrely confrontational worldview that fits with Trump's own bluster:

Apologies for freedom, I can't handle this.
When freedom rings, answer the call!
On your feet, stand up tall!
Freedom's on our shoulders, USA!
Enemies of freedom face the music, c’mon boys, take them down
President Donald Trump knows how to make America great
Deal from strength or get crushed every time
The unchanging, dead-on-straight angle of the camera, mixed with the cheesy techno music and asymmetrical dance moves make the whole thing seem more like a late-night Tim and Eric sketch than a presentation from a candidate for the highest office in the country.

Just watched. I liked it. Didn’t find anything creepy about it. Good Pro-American message.
And the author called the song "jingoistic"?
This nation is upside down.

If I'm not mistaken he was referring to the original and classic patriotic WWI song, Over There, by George M. Cohan. If that's jingoistic, what's patriotic?

That did not help. I do not know that person.
That’s not my sort of thing, but I saw nothing wrong with it.
If you go back to WWII times, they sold War Bonds with cheesy things like this. It’s not unAmerican, a misuse of old slogans, or anything of the like.
The young girls did a decent job with it.
I don’t always like that sort of presentation. Some times I do, but not this one.
That’s just a theatrical preference on my part. Others will see young kids and think it’s great.
Good for them.
This does not strike me as the same as that “Barack Husein Obama... da di da” thing going around years ago.
It’s wholesome.
We saw how Hitler used them and we saw how Obama used them. Just because it is Trump I will not accept the use of children.
I didn't like it when Hitler used children. I didn't like it when Obama used children and I don't like it when Trump or anyone else uses children in politics.
Bad move and tasteless.
Anything that is patriotic and pro-American always creeps out the left. They’re so used to bashing the country every day.
