CR Editors: Trump’s Questionable Political History

It is hard not to feel protective over Donald Trump while the political classes are seething and scornful.

They are unacquainted with such powerlessness. Control was never supposed to stray this far from their grasp. And their rage, manifested in every hapless attack on Trump and his supporters, actually seems to be improving the likelihood of that outcome they fear most of all.

How tempting, under these circumstances, to rush to his defense, as so many in the conservative movement have already done. The Donald has boldly made himself a standard bearer of unpopular (…within the political bubble), yet critical policy positions concerning national security, from the urgency of immigration enforcement to the potential implications of refugee resettlement.

He has played a pivotal role in dragging these and other issues from the shadows that the media might otherwise have not been so quick to shine a light on. He has made the case against birthright citizenship, spent countless campaign hours pledging to build a wall, and talked tough to the politically correct mafia at a time when its fascistic influence has left millions of citizens feeling voiceless.

Trump’s style and substance—brazen, unapologetic and quite popular—have upended equanimity on the left, leaving the “public intellectuals” screaming over one another to denounce his absurdity, the effrontery, the horror.

His professional opinion is that it's part of the 14th Amendment and is interpreted that way by judges. He did make some statement to the effect that if someone could find an easier way to change it then he would be for it.

We seem to have a plethora of Constitutional Scholars around these days to figure that out.

You "know" no such thing!

You have closed your ears to his voice, your eyes to his words, and your brain to actual thought!

"So you’re smarter than Sarah Palin, Jeff Sessions..."”

Remember, Sessions endorsed Cruz; not Trump

So I imagined Sessions wearing that Trump hat, embracing Trump at that Alabama rally, and essentially writing Trump's immigration enforcement plan?

“How can Trump have a political history when he never was a politician before June 2015?”

Your statement PROVES that Trumpsters are ignorant of facts. You do realize that Trump ran for President in 2012, right? Of course, he did it as a Republican with a liberal agenda and barely had a 3% favorability rating.

Levin is not nearly as intelligent as he believes he is.

O, rly? Do you have a link for that? That should be in breaking news, if so. I haven't heard that Sessions has endorsed anyone.

I have seen him at a Trump rally wearing a MAGA cap, though...

So Cruz DOES believe the Constitution is a suicide pact.

You’ve just confirmed the worst fears former-Cruz-backers have of him.

“That includes contributing to whichever politician with the power to throw obstacles in your business.”

You do realize that is called BRIBERY and is ILLEGAL in every State, not to mention immoral.

I know what Trump defenders refuse to admit, that prior to his trying to get your vote he was a flaming leftist. You're free to accept his conversion to conservative if you choose; I'm smarter than that.

You have no clue. A business can contribute as much as they want to any politician of any party. If you are solvent and can afford it, ask a lawyer.

It is illegal only is if there is a quid-pro-quo which can be proven in court. Only imbeciles would get a written agreement from the politician that the contribution has strings attached. In case you do not know it, EVERY MAJOR business contributes to BOTH parties. Time to understand the real world.

“So I imagined Sessions wearing that Trump hat, “

Jeff Sessions also appeared with Cruz in several rallies too! Sessions has also been defending Cruz against Trump. You’re point?

No authors on the article... Levin and his gang hiding his finger prints over this hit piece.

CR/Mark Levin just come out and say you endorse Ted Cruz, be intellectually honest!

Yes, I wish Mark would just get it over with and make the endorsement as his bias is showing in pretty much all he says.

Sad. Used to look forward to his show and with the exception of “Men in Black” bought all his books including Proverbs for Kids—now can hardly stand to listen :(

Read my previous post with the link.

Sessions has been at one Trump rally and MULTIPLE Cruz rallies and has even defended Cruz against Trump attacks.

You are wrong again. No one is legally running for president unless THEY FILE THE PAPERS which includes financial statement. Having intention of running means zilch. First time Trump filed formal papers was in mid-2015. Please learn to live in the real world.

“Tell THAT to everyone else who “donates” to pols...”

The difference is that Trump admitted to bribery. You can’t PROVE that Cruz is bought or has EVER done a favor for money. You can assume all you want, but without PROOF, your accusation is a LIE!
