'Just fed up w objectification of women in media'
A sports writer and New York Times best-selling author named Jeff Pearlman was pushed into a quasi-apology after saying, via Twitter, Fox News female correspondents dressed as "hookers," per order of their bosses.
He posted, alongside a photo of the female crew of Fox's well-watched "Outnumbered" this text: "Serious question: do women on Fox News get extra money for dressing as hookers? Just embarrassing."
In another tweet, Pearlman wrote: "Just fed up w objectification of women in media. It's tired, old, widespread, not cool. #done."
As Mediaite found, another named Steve Krakauer, @SteveKrak, weighed in with criticism: "@jeffpearlman Calling journalists 'hookers' is precisely the objectification of women you're talking about."
And Pearlman's response: "@SteveKrak Steve, I did NOT call the women hookers. I said Fox News has its women dress like them. Which it does. Degrades women journalists."
It wasn't long before another jumped in the fray, asking "@jeffpearlman a skirt makes you a hooker? thats the equivalent of calling you a lifeguard if you wear a red bathing suit," Mediaite found.
Pearlman said his only point was to out the network for "treat[ing] women like objects," which he said via tweet was "a disgrace to legit women reporters."
He went on, in another Twitter post: "Let me re-phrase: are tons of women journalists busting asses w skill, doggedness, professionalism. Fox News CLEARLY after looks, wardrobe."
Ultimately, Pearlman retreated a bit.
He wrote: "Ok, I admit, bad Tweet, removed. I just really object to Fox News' approach. But that's not the on-air person's fault."

Greta always has long sleeves on because she has a skin condition.
PAB
Greta was an attorney working in a stuffy environment for quite awhile-I’m sure that dress code was tattooed on her somewhere.
They have the same hairdo.....lank bleached blond (a few brunettes) hair parted in just about the same place on top their heads.....and hanging limply, lifelessly down to their shoulders.
Some were not all that attractive years ago (see if you can find old photos) but they must have a real pro studio make-up artiste now who has turned some former real dogs into pretty faces.
Make-up, nose jobs, hair coloring, hair extensions, fake eyelashes.....all make the Fox gals easy on the eyes.
I DO wonder, though, why these very professional Fox women allow themselves to be presented the way they are in the skimpy clothes, un-subtle, bizarre leg exhibition and pole-dancer shoes category.
As for CNN - not so much frou-frou. Its regulars are mostly unattractive (some very mannish) in looks and ideology, and since liberal women revel in being plain and ugly, you won't find too much eye candy on CNN.

At 42 I am the age that falls into the middle age mom category. I remember my mom and my friends’ moms when we were in elementary and high school. None of them tried to look sexy. The well to do moms looked classy and tasteful. Now I see women my age and younger trying to look sexy, dressing too young for their age and/or inappropriately for the situation.
Not all, but more than I remember from when I was a kid.
Women aren’t as visual as men.
Back in “the day” I worked in a stuffy environment where the dress code for women was a navy blue or black suit (gray if you were adventurous) and blouses with those horrible collars that tied in a bow. Ugh.
They dress like FOXy PROFESSIONAL women
Obviously Pearlman never patronized a real hooker.
Not that there’s anything wrong with it . .
J/K Folks
A black WHAT???
Oh no! Where is Patti Ann Brown?!!
There she is!!!
Your wrong there, your misunderstanding the meaning behind the blog name. He like to play with his balls then he blogs about it. Has to apparently since he doesn’t have a chance with any of the fox babes.
Semi-oldie, but a goodie nevertheless, and a catchy tune:
And still more visual evidence: "The top 20 HOTTEST women on FOX New"
Heather Childers (47) has the best pair of legs on television. Great way to start the day at 5AM..watching her report the news sitting on a bar stool, legs crossed..just AWESOME!!
What really pains me is when they take an obvious brunette (I’m thinking of a girl who subs in the 6 o’clock panel with Charles Krauthammer) and her hair has been bleached beyond belief. She has a mass of dry-looking brass spaghetti on her head and it just infuriates me. I doubt she opted for that look! I mean, Laura Ingraham is a pretty woman and does not need inch-long false eyelashes! Roger Ailes is an ass when it comes to fashion.
How Greta gets away with looking plain is beyond me. But she’s a relief.
You’re being far too sensible for this thread.
If we were blunt, a lot of women do.
I won’t see my 50’s again, but I see no reason to dress like a frump-like Hillary Clinton does-my mom never did, either-I’m the same weight I was at 17and I wear a size 4or 5. I’m in good shape because my job requires physical work-often outdoors-and I eat only natural food. I don’t own a muu muu, housedress, pantsuit or a pair of mom jeans.
Even the jeans I wear to work are lowcut, and fitted, with a flannel shirt tucked in. I don’t wear outfits a 25 year old would-I haven’t since I WAS 25-but I don’t wear pantsuits, polyester, or any other Hillary-frumpy stuff, either. I have both long and above the knee skirts for going out. I usually wear boots, but I do wear f’ me shoes in summer. No false eyelashes, heavy foundation, etc-looks too much like a cartoon character...
I think appropriate dress is all about what is appropriate for where you live, work, etc-JMO...
Huh. I thought he might be bragging about being able to blog with one hand.
Ugh! That was the dress code at a school district where my mom taught-she found a job with another district-where colored dresses were okay after the second year there...
ahhh,,, Lynn Russell memories. .
