Bernie Sanders leads Hillary Clinton in a major Iowa poll for the first time since September, the latest sign the Democratic primary race is tightening between the two candidates.
The Vermont senator wins 49 percent of likely caucusgoers in the Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday, compared to Clinton's 44 percent. It's a significant drop for the former secretary of State from last month's Quinnipiac poll, which had her up by 11 percent.
Sanders is boosted by his 30-point lead among men, a significantly higher favorability rating, and more favorable views of his character traits and values. He's seen as a better steward of the economy and climate change, while Clinton wins on foreign policy, terrorism and healthcare.
Iowa Democrats still believe Clinton has a better shot at the White House, with 85 percent picking her compared to 68 percent who think Sanders can win.
Sanders's lead is just outside the poll's margin of error of 4.4 percent.

Bernie doesn’t play dirty like Hillary’s people do. If she crumbles and Bernie gets the nomination, Trump will absolutely mop the floor with him.

he can win. hillary can’t. that scares me.

It would be a nightmare to have either Sanders or Hillary making decisions regarding national security.
Only difference between the 2 is Bernies teeth are more yellow than hers.

The attacks on Hillary are so effective because she’s basically an unlikeable bitch.
Bernie is grandpa; his policies are every bit as unlikeable as Hillary’s, but personally he is not. Trump cannot hit him as hard as Hillary and be as effective, there will be some backlash.
He needs to treat Bernie as he is, the confused old man who wandered away from the nursing home looking for his lost World’s Fair spoon he uses to eat his oatmeal.

I remember a headline on Drudge some time back, ‘Hillary has the votes’ to secure the nomination. If it’s true it won’t matter who is ahead in the polls.
