The nuns who are challenging Obamacare will attend the State of the Union

Two members of the order of Catholic nuns waging a court battle against President Obama’s signature health-care reform law will attend his final State of the Union address Tuesday as guests of House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis).

The Little Sisters of Poor are challenging the health law’s requirement that group insurance plans offer contraceptive coverage at no additional cost.

By inviting two members of The Little Sisters of the Poor to sit with him the Speaker's Box, Ryan is finally doing something right.

Let's just hope he follows through with a push-back should the Supreme Court rule against the Sisters.

In countries more formally declared as hard socialist and communist, there is more explicit neglect of dependent people like developmentally disabled, mentally ill and physically disabled. These religious people are sometimes allowed to take care of them where the government would otherwise neglect them. Our cultural marxists, the descendants of the Frankfurt School, Saul Alinsky, the Cloward-Piven Strategy people, Christian leftists, the Little Sisters on the Bus, are all in active opposition and have the perhaps undeclared goal of driving these Little Sisters of Poor out of business. Resort to law can only help in the short term. The Little Sisters of Poor will have to be liquidated in the end in a country that will eventually turn majority anti-religious, not taking into account that the same liquidation will apply to them.

In human history, comebacks generally have some kind of spiritual foundation.

At the same time nobody is excused from the larger battle between God and the devil. Even those who have done everything right to their knowledge will still find themselves suffering and it is no use their becoming all indignant about it. To the spiritually mature it is recognized as a sign that the Lord is about to move (and that Satan is, ultimately vainly, trying to spoil that), and so their best strategy is to dig in and hold what they can while praying.
