Two would-be robbers who were fatally shot at a liquor store in the Gresham neighborhood Saturday night have been identified as a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy, authorities said.
Keshawn Marzette, 15, of the 8300 block of South Throop Street, and William Larson, 17, of the same address, were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Autopsies Sunday determined both died of multiple gunshot wounds and their deaths were classified as homicides, the office said.
The two were shot to death by a store employee about 8:30 p.m. when they tried to rob Z&S Food & Liquor in the 1300 block of West 87th Street, sources said.

Blame Indiana for the hand gun.
I crack up every time I read that!!
Every media and activist douchebag out there makes a big deal about police and armed citizen killings being
!!RULED A HOMICIDE!!!!!!
BUHM, BUHM, BUUUHHHMMMMM!!!! (we need the dramatic squirrel in here for a visual).
Any killing is a homicide, whether you’re killing Charles Manson or Little Orphan Annie.
The store worker made sure that he stopped the threat - multiple gunshots for each thug. I approve. BlackLivessMatter, primarily the lives of productive people such as the shooter who defended himself.
You're gonna love this: A group of bystanders stood talking loudly outside the store, which had a sign banning guns from the premises.
Apparently the Yutes could not read, because they brought a gun to rob the store/clerk.
Chicago Public Schools fail.
I'll wager they were fatherless anyway.
Waiting for “They were good boys. Turning their lives around. Going to college.”
I believe that liquor store is located in a different place.....about 180 degrees of difference.
"Larson recently had received his GED and enrolled in Triton College in suburban River Grove"
But the clerk who shot them is likely a Muslim immigrant.
Oh my oh my oh my....what is the lamestream media to do?
I had this explained to me recently. Anything that someone does that causes the death of another is a homicide (strictly medical definition). However, homicide does not mean murder.
So every murder is a homicide, but every homicide is not a murder.
Det. Kenda needs his show renamed.
In addition: Investigators were trying to determine if the teens had robbed at least two other stores in the area not long before trying to rob the liquor store.
But wait! There’s more:
Brandon acknowledged her brother had been in trouble before but did not specify what that entailed. She said he and Marzette were “always together,” and that Larson recently had received his GED and enrolled in Triton College in suburban River Grove.
“He showed me his class schedule, filled out his FAFSA and everything,” Brandon said, referring to a form for student aid. “He didn’t even get a chance to start. I’m just lost. I’m just numb that I won’t see my brother again.”
The medical examiner doesn’t get into the legal stuff. He just renders a professional opinion on the cause of death. The “justified” label is in the hands of the law, to give out as its whims direct.
